I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I've seen you post this a few times, who are you talking about?
I've never seen anyone in my office refuse to work their hours, just as well cause it would probably result in them being sacked, and I've not read any posts on here from people saying they shouldn't have to work their hours either! Perhaps you could use the quote facility to prove me wrong though,or are you just full of it?

Re: Wool pulled over 1 in 4 sats off !!
We do the 1 in 6 weeks off, and all our days are 8 hour days including Saturday, so if you include holidays, which I'm not sure that is part of the deal, then we're probabley at 1 in 4 off, no one I've spoken to so far what longer days.
Our main worry is what time we might have to start, I still can't really understand why we need to start later, all RM have to do over a bank holiday is have 1 missed day, and start from scratch, I'm sure mail takes longer togo through the system now than it did 10 or 20 years ago, and if we're collecting and deliverring less mail then it should take less time to go through the machines, I'm not sure what RM gain from us starting and finishing later.

I stop my subs and quit the CWU, easy. I gain £156.52 per annum, the CWU loses a man who was staunch in his support when called upon, but never, not once, had any reason to call upon the help of the union, never.dingo wrote:

What???? On here??????? Are you sure you're posting name shouldn't be whiteflag?banner18 wrote:Just the usual groaning from those who refuse to work to their hours.
Most people who post on this site work their hours, including me, but even if we didn't, a deal that makes working conditions worse, is a bad, bad, bad, deal.
Anyway, what's next in the great CWU giveaway of members T&C??? Sick pay? Holiday pay? Or, will the CWU "win" Sunday working for us?
Boy, oh, boy, the suspense is just tooooooooo much.

Its a case of reading between the lines I suppose. Why do people complain about some so called 'extra work' that will be dumped on us? This doesn't make sense to me. They can put as much work as they like onto any of us, so what? Go in on time, work properly. If the work is gonna take you over, either book over or cut off. From the outset you do this. Will they be funny about it? Well they can try, but just imagine if we all do it.
The job we do is unique in that much of it is outdoor and on our own. They will keep coming for everyone until they are convinced that all the hours that they pay for are being spent on productive work. Our only defence is to comply.

Sorry folks - i have been saying since day 1, extra would be the likely way, it was never
going to get funded, anyone who thought this was at best mislead. The best bit is, if you
work already in a unit that has over 4 hr dels, later starts, still bigger rounds & a bit extra on a Sat-
there is no wonder there wont be many takers

I think Banner 18 is one of those members that stick up for themselves.Unfortunatly most of us are scared of the actual confrontation. It is these bullying managers that we think are going to sack us.Well download the bullying & Harrasment form (http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 36&t=16774" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).
You need to email the harrasments to :
dale.haddon@royalmail.com
mark.higson@royalmail.com
,and your area rep.You can find your reps email/mobile here : http://www.cwu.org/cwu-branches.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As well as your DOM,or if is against him, your DSM. Speak to your bookroom guy and ask him to access the "people finder" on the Royal mail intranet. Then find your DSM's email address. We need to find these bullying b******s and let EVERYONE know of what they are doing.
I have given these forms to members in the past and they are too lazy to fill them in.PLEASE let me hope that despite the whinging on these forums you are actually prepared to act?

I don't know your personal circumstances banner but for many of us saturday is a very important day for us with regards to our life outside of Royal Mail.banner18 wrote: Its a case of reading between the lines I suppose. It may not matter to you if you have to work 9 or 10 hours on a saturday until at least 1500 just so that you can have an extra 4 saturdays off a year but it bothers me and the majority of my strong office who, barring one or two idiots all work their hours.
This is not about working your hours but working what we consider unreasonable hours.
And drb.......i thought your show was great last night.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The ball was in the CWU's court when they went into the talks after the strikes.
If you honestly believe that the posties have any sort of clout now you are seriously deluded.

I would work every saturday because they are not important to me I admit. My wife goes shopping all day and I am not a footballing guy. I know some are really bothered by it but people such as me may work every saturday providing there is some incentive which would allow others every saturday off.
