Geraldine Smith and John Grogan

Post by belle smith »

CWU member Geraldine Smith who has supported us resaloutly throughout the last couple of years, being the leader of many rebellions against the goverment on our and her constituentce behalf, lost her seat in yesterdays Genral Election. John Grogan who has also spoken on our behalf with regards to the pension scheme, and during the 2007 IA also stood down.

Thanks for all your hard work. :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

The problem is that New Labour won all these True Blue Tory seats up there that they should have never really won in ' 97 and held onto them , e.g. Chorley - Lindsay Hoyle off Den Dover , Joan Humble - Fleetwood , David Borrow - South Ribble

The Tory was a gentleman ( rare ) - he did apologise saying it was very close and shook her hand though .

I'm afraid Geraldine is a quite a loss , I can remember her absolutely wiping the floor with :lfo and nailing him to the wall re one of those stupid off hand " Hi - Di - Hi " Joe Maplin type letters he sent out to all the RM staff .

Apparently this " new wave " " management " " style was thought to be a failure , hence the appointment of Bryden
