It will be interesting to see how they make that work. I'm under no illusions, I start at 6.00am, I finish at 3.00pm, that's all my DOM needs to know, if he decides he will choose to ignore that salient fact, more fool him. I don't do, never have, never will, free overtime.
It is to do with walk sequencing and the fact they wish us all to start later in the so called agreement but London are better in sticking together than the rest of the UK so good luck and all the best!.

Now in terms of the joint statement on deliveries it will claify what is going to happen and what talks are needed. Royal Mail have a target date for increasing door to door to 4 items of the end of june as they have to get their sales people to try and drum up the bussiness which means they have to under cut TNT and the mail merge bussiness.
Hold on a cotton pickin moment.......didn`t you or somebody else in the union say that Royal Fail was turning away business as there was a 3 items cap and was losing money hand over fist and how we must all lick their ass and now deliver as much shyte as possible but now we are having to `drum up business?` :hmmmm
Is this another line from the There are 25000000000000million gazillion vans in a field ready for action? :left:

Haven't been on for a bit, just seen RM's vision for deliveries.....why am i not in the least surprised!
I note it's been withdrawn, for now.
Very unhappy union member, whose not leaving.
But just to be clear i will not be voteing in favour of anymore 'save the union strikes'.

ps i did realise that there would be increases to delivery spans as part of the resaloution to this dispute, i really didn't expect an agreement with no national upper limit, and a pay cut to boot.

I've got my hands in the air lol,i did say it may be a London thing or tbf to elaborate more my part of it,or even my office.

And i have no reason to disbelieve any of you when you say you've still got it bad.

I feel for you lot.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Walks that would take 3-15hrs are well below the 3hr mark,i would say 2-45hrs.

Now this may be a London thing i don't know, but i think we have to be honest when it comes to the traffic we get now.

All depends on the scale of RM cutbacks in each D.O

Some have been so severe that any drop in mail has been counteracted if not over whelmed!!!

Put back all the rounds that have been taken out over the last few years and how would things look like?

COMMUNICATION WORKERS UNION
Report of the Senior Deputy General Secretary

INCOME
Obviously the rate at which we spend money impacts greatly upon the loss we make. What is now beginning and will continue to have an impact on our ability to fund current levels of expenditure is, declining income.

On 1 January 2009 we increased the headline of subscriptions by 4.2% this was the largest percentage increase in the headline rate of subscriptions since we harmonised rates in 2006.
Despite this increase in individual payments from our members income was down, this was because we had 19,000 less members on our records base at the
end of 2009 than we did at the beginning.
More worryingly is the trend that lays behind that figure, we had 11,000 new members and 30,000 leavers. So, for every member we recruit 3 leave.
This in itself throws up another serious point, we can not keep relying on a smaller number of members to pay increasing amounts of money simply because we can’t or don’t want to find a way to reduce expenditure appropriately.
This situation shows no sign of improving – indeed the recent resolution to the Royal Mail dispute clearly means that we will begin to see acceleration in the rate of decline.
Unless therefore there is an upsurge in membership recruitment, the likes of which we haven’t seen in this Union for some considerable amount of time our income will continue to reduce to the extent that it has a material impact upon our future.

Just wait and see. All members paying the same subs full time and part time.................I can see it now. If your going to break something then do it right and proper. After all the part timers have been shafted on this deal its onlt fair that we pay the full rate for this shafting. :chuckle

No worries there ft, you see unions don't go broke, although I don't remember which of the holy trinity said it, they merge with another union :wave then they take on more staff, become bigger, spend more, fail to represent the membership, have that membership fail to respond and merge with another one -- or at least that is the theory .................... there must be a name for it...................

Ahhh now merge..... :hmmmm

The Pensions regulator recently reported that 97% of defined benefit pensions schemes have seen increased deficits. The schemes sponsored by the CWU are no exception and the fact is that we are now facing combined deficits in the three pension schemes we sponsor of around the £14 million mark (subject to final actuarial valuation).

I know Dave and Bob can sell anything but...falling membership levels, top heavy and unrealistic structure, operating at a loss and a whacking great pension deficit.
I can hear the conversations at Unite HQ already..."It's that Hayes guy on the phone again...tell him we're not in..no better still tell him we've moved....somewhere else". :chuckle

When they f****d-up our walks after SDD came in 2003, we were lumbered with 3.00pm finishes on a WEDS, THURS, FRI. Long old days, and no, I don't know how the rep at the time, and the company, managed to completely ignore the 2.00pm last letter for towns, but there it is.

Just as a matter of interest, because perhaps I'm not supposed to be a party to these matters, has there been a statement or was the meeting just about making a statement about the statement - RM obviously hasn't decided to let us all in on the secret yet, maybe it is too close to those withdrawn documents to be released yet.

If my memory serves me correctly wasn't there supposed to be workshops "within 4 weeks of the agreement" well it's a fortnight on Tuesday so that's halfway there.
