It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

But it seems the workforce were not, and so it could be argued they were deliberately misled.mazza111 wrote:Received a reply from one of the emails sent Basically they are sorry about the wording, but the CWU were aware that it was prorata

Doesn't feel right posting the full thing tbh, guess it would be deemed as private mail. And could possibly be identified from it. However, the colleagues in my office already know who I am
And i really don't give a sh.t.
If anyone would like to see the email, drop me a pm, but don't feel right splattering it on here, thnx

I have to say I never saw any union document which said it was not pro rata so not sure how anyone has been misled, In fact the union never ducked the issue of pro rata payments on the supplements during the debate.brandydoguk wrote:But it seems the workforce were not, and so it could be argued they were deliberately misled.mazza111 wrote:Received a reply from one of the emails sent Basically they are sorry about the wording, but the CWU were aware that it was prorata
In any case most of those who were shouting for a no vote argued that they were getting the colleague share payments they were owed. yet colleague share payments have all been paid on a pro rata basis.

But dingo, your assuming that everyone knew that the colleagueshares were paid prorata, remember there is always a high turn over of new staff within RM. And if you read page 62 in the reward summary it does state ALL. If CWU, RM and ACAS couldn't spot this, but a postie could, it makes me wonder if they were all on the sauce whilst typing this up.dingo wrote:I have to say I never saw any union document which said it was not pro rata so not sure how anyone has been misled, In fact the union never ducked the issue of pro rata payments on the supplements during the debate.brandydoguk wrote:But it seems the workforce were not, and so it could be argued they were deliberately misled.mazza111 wrote:Received a reply from one of the emails sent Basically they are sorry about the wording, but the CWU were aware that it was prorata

Mazza new recurits would not have recieved colleague share payments as only those in the business who had employed before 2007.
The Union never agreed colleague share payments, Royal Mail have a caluclation of what the share price is worth per share , a full timer has more shares then a part timer.
I dont like that any more than you do. But the truth is both our negotators , acas , Royal Mail and Roger Poole knew that this did not mean full payment for everyone.
Now in terms of part timers they are paid pro rata for shift allowances , PBS bonus , they pay po rata union subs and they recieve the same hourly rate as a full timer.
Now there are various motions to this years postal confernece seeking to make things fairer for part timers , lets see how they get on.

Page 2 of todays Courier...
Mark Higsons words...
"First up, employees will get £400 for ratifying the agreement, and a 2% increase in pay and allowances backdated to 5 April this year"
No mention of pro rata at all

Well dingo as we both know those motions have been around for a few years now and have never made it very far so what are the chances for a better response this year?dingo wrote:

Let's hope they don't negotiate another crap deal because I can see most of us ending up PT (as we where threatened by a senior manager whenever we complained about our duties taking 5-6 hours now). Now there are various motions to this years postal confernece seeking to make things fairer for part timers , lets see how they get on.

Well Dingo, I don't class myself as old skool when it comes to RM. But come on, you must admit, putting £400 for ALL employees in the Reward Summary is leaving the door wide open for this. And if you've probably seen, some newer members of staff have had (part) of this payment too.
Yes it's the coleagueshare scheme repackaged, but as far as it showing as ALL employees, then all should be getting it. If after all those months of negotiations mistakes like that shouldn't be made.

Well if they knew, wouldn't it have been a good idea to tell everyone else - still a bit like the election payments I suppose - just one of those things that the CWU have agreements for but are ignored anyway - so why actually bother?

The 'words' have been f****d up,RM accept this, the union knew about it being pro rata, the agreement, reward summary table on page 62 is wrong!

Royal Mail wrote:I agree that the status of the £400 payment was not explained in the reward summary table on page 62 of the agreement.

Am I a Second Class member because I pay less subs?.................. WTF has this got to do with what Royal Mail pay out!!!!dingo wrote:Mazza new recurits would not have recieved colleague share payments as only those in the business who had employed before 2007.

The more you speak about part timers the more a big hole opens up and swallows you, Get real, we are becoming a business reliant on part time staff. If this is the attitude of the union then any new staff coming in on the great 25 hr contracts won't be inclined to join!
