WELL IV'E BEEN DOING THAT FOR NEARLY 40 YEARS AND NOW THE c***'S WANT TO DEPRIVE ME OF IT . TOMMO HELP ME OUT HERE I'M JUST GOING OUT SIDE TO MAKE A GALLOWS TO HANG FROM. :

Maybe the CWU have finally started something, lots of coverage in the papers today, especially the Mirror. When I saw the headline I couldn't believe it, then I remembered it's Royal Mail and I could. :Applause

Maybe not. Just read that the union fed the story and it isn't true.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Union did feed the story and it IS true, but RM have denied it, in order to discredit the Union.

Royal Mail may be denying the story now, but I would'nt mind betting it will happen in the very near future. Lets face it, RM are in the sh*t over the pension holiday, and they will cut back on anything they can. They don't give a toss about us, and yet they have the cheek to expect us to take less pension but work longer for it???? I think not! Don't suppose Ad and Al will get theirs chopped, do you? :evil/mad :evil/mad :evil/mad

Actually Royal Mail are not extacly denying the story to quote
The document says: "These changes would gradually reduce Royal Mail's overall pension costs and therefore reduce the future risk to our business, jobs and existing pensions."

It stresses that no decisions have been made and the proposals are to form a basis for consultation. But it also says keeping the existing scheme is not an option
and
Royal Mail, which has recently lost a string of contracts, said: "There is no formal proposal yet in play."
so they have neither confirmed nor denied it, which to my way of thinking this is exactly what they are going to do.

Over the last ten years this Labour government has been at the forefront of constant attacks on Royal Mail and what do we do - donate lots of cash to them!!!

TIME TO STOP GIVING THIS GOVERNMENT OUR HARD EARNT MONEY THROUGH OUR SUBSCRIPTION.

Perhaps we could run a poll of those that have given up the political levy. Also could the CWU put an opt out form in a PDF file on their website which those who wish to could download, fill out and forward to the CWU.
