Totally agree with you the partimers got screwed over d2d. It should have been across the board.Theghost wrote:and £15 per week suppliment even though i deliver to 592 houses

However in some way FT have been "screwed over" as well - If we ignore how much that all foot sloggers are loosing on D2D not being being paid as it should affect both PT and FT the same and in effect it cancels each other out.
However FT getting 2007 pay protection of £12.37 have to give that up so in essence the £20.60 is actually in real terms an £8.23 supplement.
Where as in general very few PTimers got ESA so (ignoring the D2D issue) whatever percentage of the Del Sup they get they don't have to take into account any loss of allowances.
However, I don't like the Delivery Supplement for a number of reasons:
1. Its spread too thin.
2. Its not targeted correctly IMHO.
3. People who do not do delivery work are going to get it.
4. It sends the message that all delivery jobs are the same whether inside or outside. (Certain indoor jobs do deserve a better return for their responsibilities such as Room of Doom and when the CWU agreed loss of leadership allowances or (payment by skills if they ever did) that was a mistake.)
IMHO I think the Delivery Supplement would have been a good idea if it was used as a "incentive" for the Delivery side of the job. In other words the longer your delivery span the more supplement you get. That way the larger duties would receive more and the shorter easier ones less. This would also address RMs concern over us being paid twice for, in their view, delivering D2Ds.

TBT
Here's another point along the same lines FT get 12.37 ESA and aprox £6.90 increase to basic pay, 30 hour staff at my place all used to do a 0530 start and used to be 28 hours prior to pegasus. I get 4.65 ESA so a 28 hour person a little less. The increase to basic pay is aprox £5.20 for a 30 hour contract. So myself and my fellow 30 hour bods are getting a increase to basic pay thats greater than what we loose on ESA. FT has a increase thats less than their ESA!
Winners and loosers again but this time FT and not PT

That is how the CWU now defines those who have better working conditions than others.
You have to "get real"........I think that what the saying is.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: The Most Unfair Pay Deal in the History of RMG
When I started this thread I didn't expect to get more questions than answers!
It seems that Royal Mail Group have succeeded in aggravating the majority of workers in the company, as if there wasn't enough aggro already.
Worse than that though is the fact that this deal seems to have put worker versus worker i.e. full time versus part time, delivery office staff versus mail centre staff, regular Saturday worker versus those who don't often work on Saturday, large round versus smaller round; does that sound about right?
Given the state that our once great organisation is in, counters included, then a fair and reasonable pay deal that made some attempt at getting everybody pulling in the same direction would have been a sensible agreement to make instead of this half-baked mish mash of bad ideas and unworkable practices!
I despair! I really really despair!!
It's no wonder we are in such a mess and lurch from one crisis to another and like most contributors to this thread, I blame the CWU almost as much as the management of Royal Mail.
