Re: Joint statement on deliveries
"Now in terms of my statement to Dvbuk the reality is that a joint statement with the CWU is exactly that , it is for CWU members . Of course the terms will apply to non members. Of course non members can moan and shout on here. But the fact is that you dont have a voice and you dont have a vote."
This is utter arrogance worthy of a politician. As a former union member I left for personal reasons some time ago but even as a member I did not have a voice because the union did not listen, and we had votes that the local union reps chose to ignore time and again. I just hope that this doesn't lead to any strikes. In our office the only people to cross the picket lines were union members. We all have a right to know what is going on whether union members or not.

Typical responses . The fact is that I informed the CWU members on this site that there will be a joint statement on deliveries which will outline the way forward for all aspects of the delivery part of the agreement.
I thought it was dingo who said that, are you 2 the same person.

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
I am a union member, although as I'm only part time, or 'loser' as the CWU calls me. You will forgive me if I say that the thought of further discussions on deliveries doesn't fill me with hope, rather, I'd say that I'm more worried than anything.
Now seeing as we have 2 of the most vociferous of the 'Yes Campaigners' here, can either of you answer the following questions?
1. What percentage of the workforce will be the small minority that are 'losers'
2. Why did the union mis-lead the members? In reply to the many threads about the Delivery Supplement, it was stated by 3 (If I remember correctly) different people that (I'm paraphrasing here) "part timers would be receiving an increase in their basic pay -due to the shorter working week- and if the DS was paid at the same rate to all members, then Full Timers may feel grumpy, because Part timers would receive a larger Supplement than them." Why was this repeated again and again, it was also stated, word for word in a letter from my Branch. Why would full time staff feel grumpy because part time staff were being paid the same hourly rate?
I don't actually expect a reply, as I've asked this before and I'm still waiting.

Right, all non-union members close your eyes, this thread, shyte and all that it is, I repeat, this thread, shyte and all that it is, is not for you, I repeat, not for you.The truth! wrote:
Dvbuk the thread was a reference for CWU members. Non members no longer should have a concern about what the union is doing as you have decided to go it alone.
The joint statement will address all the issues including timescales for the delivery section of the agreement.
This thread is for the mugs still funding the likes of Dingone, and the truthwhatisthat, lucky guttersnipes not having to put up with the shyte they land everyone else in, because union members fund their full-time release from what is now the job from hell, a hell they've had a hand in making for all postal workers.
The very minute I hear I've got D2D shyte to deliver on a Saturday, or have to work a minute more than I already have to on a Saturday, I'll be joining good trade union minded people like dvbuk, and quitting this travesty, poor excuse of a trade union.

Wow dirty harry powerful stuff . Never mind when you start getting your door to door on a Saturday or you get your revision proposals or you refuse to do them and get charged under the conduct. Code please feel free to ring dvbuk rather than the Cwu as he seems to have got some great terms and conditions in his workplace .
It is time to get real dealt with a number of disagreements in your area today and believe me you need door to door into workload in your area to mantain jobs due to the mount having one of the highest mech levels in the uk .
You might moan loud but the fact is that your job depends on having enough work to fill your day.

Re: Joint statement on deliveries
Dingo, the terms and conditions in my workplace should be exactly the same terms and conditions in every workplace, of course there are winners and losers in some workplaces because the union have managed to negotiate that, or would it be because some offices are weak, they don't have good unit reps or any reps at all in some circumstances. The thing is Dingo that union members pay the same subscription and should expect the same service and representation.dingo wrote:Wow dirty harry powerful stuff . That T&C's vary from office to office an yet we are all doing the same job. I doubt any other unskilled job would have that eh?
As for unions merging. They just have!
