I understand why some people will vote for the BNP
I understand why some people will vote for the BNP in Thursday's General Election. Saying that doesn’t mean that I will vote for the BNP, or that I support the BNP, or that I am recommending the BNP; it simply means that I have a certain sympathy with people who are so far excluded from the political process that they feel they need to vote for an extreme party in order to make an extreme statement.

The issue isn’t race, it is class. It always was. All working people are suffering under the strains of the neo-liberal attack which politicians have encouraged in the last 30 years; the deregulation of the banking sector to allow the kleptocrats in the City of London to steal our pension funds and our savings; the break-up and sale of our public services at knock-down prices; the export of our jobs to low-wage colonies abroad.

So if the BNP had been in power in this country the global banking crisis would not have happened.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The issue isn’t race, it is class. It always was. Nope read the article - I quoted from it and you know I am in no way supporting the BNP at all ever. In fact I think Roys main thrust in his article is the failure of other parties to address the concerns of ordinary voters, has lead to an increase in BNP supporters, not that if the BNP was in power etc etc.Lounge Lizard wrote:So if the BNP had been in power in this country the global banking crisis would not have happened.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:The issue isn’t race, it is class. Re: I understand why some people will vote for the BNP
What do you understand? That some people are fed up with Labour and Tory? That these two parties over the last 30 years have systematically destroyed everthing this country stood for by stripping its identity and stealing from tax payers as well selling everything off and owning nothing? taking no responsibility of governing this country whatsoever? Labour and Tory make the BNP look like a choir boy in relation

No my point is that I understand why some people are so hacked off with politics in this country that they want to put a great big rocket up its backside and stand back and watch the fireworks, not that I think the BNP should be in power, God Forbid.

I have not fallen into the trap of Godwin's Law, on this occasion, only reminding the previous poster about attempting to do just thatTrueBlueTerrier wrote:I trump you with Godwin's lawNWpostie wrote:steven100 wrote:People who vote BNP are nothing but low IQ intelligence. I am aware of both, they are often erroneously linked, different principles applies however, there is a tendency for some threads as the longer it progresses to go down to Hitlerism at some point, playing the race and Nazi card hence Godwins Law.

Somebody had better explain to me what Godwin's Law is. Also Hitlerism. They are both new concepts to me.

My understanding of Godwins law is that any thread on any message board on the internet if left to run, will eventually degenerate into someone calling someone else a fascist.
The way the fascist on this thread uses Reductio ad Hitlerum in this thread is a pitiful attempt to convince the bystander that the BNP aren't like that anymore and there's no need to mention Hitler when discussing the BNP , hence the absurd notion that we should engage them about their policies without going into their motives.
In reality, if it talks like a Nazi, acts like a Nazi, it probably is a Nazi.
Godwin was a clever fella wasn't he.

Re: I understand why some people will vote for the BNP
Banks? where did that come from? No it wouldn't have stopped the banking crisis cos we have too many governments that think "privatisation is best" which leads backs to governments don't want the responsibility anymore! Listen to Cameron go on about the choice to start your own schools, why is this? cos government don't want to - Now pay your tax!Roy Mayall wrote:So if the BNP had been in power in this country the global banking crisis would not have happened.![]()
