ColleagueShare/Lump Sums

As part of these negotiations Royal Mail and CWU have reviewed the ColleagueShare scheme. As a result the scheme has been enhanced in the following areas:

The 2010 dividend payment linked to business results due to be announced in June has been brought forward and the dividend will now be paid on ratification of the agreement

£400 lump sum (previously final ColleagueShares dividend) paid to all employees upon ratification of agreement

ColleagueShare Has always been pro rata...So I reckon us part timers will NOT be seeing 400 bucks on Friday...

Do you really think the CWU can turn this around ha ha ha ha ha ha.. Dream on !!

Has anyone else tried phoning HQ for an answer??

I tried but "no one actually knows" or they "have passed the details on and someone will phone back"

Sounds like they ****ed up and don't want to admit it.

First the election leaflet / poll card disaster.........now this.

Not looking to groovy is it??

just spoke to hr, it will definitely be pro rata based on contracted hours, that is the information they have got and what they are processing from , i was told to speak to my union representitive and can make a complaint to,

Complaints And Issues,
4th floor,
pond street
sheffield
s98 6hr.

so their we have it the agreement has been broken within the 1st week of deployment, royal mail fails yet again - more broken promises.

whats can we do other than what i got above?

All the part timers on here should sign a petition and send it to CWU.

Not surprised this was the outcome.

It shows that CWU HQ have absolutely no regard for the wording of the agreement. How then can they expect RM to do the same???

TO: ALL BRANCHES WITH POSTAL MEMBERS

Dear Colleagues

BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION 2010 AND BEYOND AGREEMENT – DEPLOYMENT ISSUES

As explained in LTB360/10, we met Royal Mail yesterday for an initial discussion on deployment of the agreement.

Both parties recognised the need for strong processes to ensure the agreement is deployed consistently across all local offices, both in spirit and content.

We also agreed the need for a comprehensive workplan to progress the substantial ongoing work commitments within the agreement. This will evolve over the next few weeks and a further meeting will take place with Royal Mail next week to discuss these issues.

In the meantime, the following action points were agreed:

• Next week the Outdoor Secretary and the equivalent senior Royal Mail manager will issue a joint communication providing initial information on the deployment of Door to Door and relevant revision tools.
• A provisional date for a joint meeting between CWU Divisional Representatives and the equivalent senior Royal Mail managers was agreed for the 14th May to further discuss deployment issues with particular focus on how we transform relationships.

Finally, we can also confirm that the 2% pay increase will be paid on the 7th May 2010, backdated to the 5th April 2010, and for monthly paid employees the 2% increase will be in May salaries. The £400 lump sum (previous ColleagueShare dividend / paid pro-rata part time) due upon ratification of the agreement will also be paid on the 7th May 2010. We do not yet have agreed dates of the implementation of the new basic pay supplements and these will be subject to further discussions in conjunction with the relevant operational issues.

Further information will be sent out in due course.

All enquiries on the content of this LTB regarding pay should be addressed to the DGS(P) department. Enquiries relating to operational issues should be addressed to the relevant Assistant Secretaries.

Yours sincerely,

Dave Ward

LTB means nothing, this is the point, the agreement says...

April 5th 2010 – 2% Increase to basic pensionable pay flowing through to all allowances London Pay Range, overtime and SA rates.
£400 lump sum (previously final ColleagueShares dividend) paid to all employees upon ratification of agreement.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Why am I not surprised?

Personally they can shove their pro rata bonus up their, um, backsides. I do not want a bonus for ratifying an agreement I did not help ratify anyway. They can, of course, pay me the colleague share bonus that they have disguised to fund this pathetic joke of an agreement.

But if it comes to the worse, I really do not want anything to do with this deal.

However, for arguments sake, all employees means just that. How can you justify a bonus tied to the ratification of it, pro rata? Did the full timers make more of an effort then they ticked NO/YES?

The agreement is indeed broken folks but nothing will be done, nothing at all.

The Union sold out and continues to do so, just so it can survive and pay the fat-cats. Simple as.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

couldnt agree more PMN.. my point of ref: to the above post is that we never picked up on this
earlier.. I bumped this upto Branch & the LTB was their responce.. now if you look earlier in the
thread I also posted what RM was stating about this (blah blah blah ballott results) it seems to me
that they are both singing from the same sheet
I have also instructed the P/Ters in my unit to put in a collective Grievance if they do not get it :wave :wave

Perhaps people will begin to understand that a union which relies on its very existence to the employer it is supposed to be defending us against cannot in all honesty carry out that task diligently and without prejudice under the present financial circumstances.

Firstly go thru the IR frame-work with your local rep (CWU)
Secondly contact-dale.haddon@royalmail.com
mark.higson@royalmail.com
Thirdly contact Roger Poole at ACAS (no details) sure if you ask PMN or TBT they may be able to help
