everthing except the mail is pro rata even d2d's
But that being said why shouldnt i still be able to vote in any dispute that occurs,it seems that i have to buy a vote which seems disgusting to me when this also affects my future,i hope we do get our bonus this week but nobody seems to have a definitive answer
Are you sure.......You want the same rights as a union member but not pay the union subs that pay for the national negotiating teams and officers that work nationaly with your emplyers to reach national agreements. If you feel so strong about the having no voice at work, why dont you stop lamenting your lack of say in these matters and join the union become an active member of your branch and set the agenda yourself instead of moaning what others are doing.

All in all you have answered your own question really.

Mrs Fishtank works for a non-unionised organisation and her pay rises have far outstripped mine in the last 10 years. :hmmmm

Well said fishtank, plus the d2d's now will be swallowed by any increase and we could have up to 5 a week,so the value has gone down and the work increased, and you cant say the working conditions have improved, bullyings increased, and postmen are certainly less happy than when the first wave of industrial action started, they striked for nothing in reality, lost wages while on strike and the changes will still be introduced

Well all that is true but at least the changes have been "negotiated" for the next three years, there is a new understanding, well not quite yet, they are still talking apparently and the election material is being paid sometimes - no worries though it's all in hand and what isn't in hand will be sorted by ACAS at some point - though it may take a bit more talking.

So lets have a look at this from 2003 and till the end of this deal basic pay will have gone up by £140 National rate and inner London Weiighting by £140 and Outer London by £148 .

So for national rate pay that is an average increase of £15.50 each year.

Now that is not a bad figure , if Ms Fishtank has increased more than they good luck to her.

But no one can deny that since 2003 and deal on SDD and major change basic pay has not increased.

Remember last year 55% of all companies covered by Employement studies did not recive any pay rise. That figure is now 46% this year.

Plus maybe some of you were not in employment during the early to mid 90s when we had the public sector pay constraints when either pay went up by 1% or 1.5%. Once the government of the day announces a public sector pay freeze then you can not even go on strike over it as you cant ballot on politcal matters only industrial matters and the employer has to obey the Government of the day.

All major parties have said if they win this election then they will put in a public sector pay freeze next year.

Well we have avoided that by getting a 3 year deal in place prior to a new government being in place.

Zebediah wrote:Is it really true getting lump sum of 400pounds for part timers and can anyone say me what are the jobs available....

It was originally very clearly pro rata meaning you get £10 for each of your contracted hours as that is how RML set up the CS scheme (CWU were not involved) howver the 2010 agreement was about bring the annual £400 dividend forward but the actual wording suggest something other than the payment being made a monthe early is goin on.

2001 and beyind says and I quote

£400 lump sum (previously final ColleagueShares dividend) paid to all employees upon ratification of agreement.

As you can see it says previously and paid to all employees, no mention of pro rata for the £400. If its not CS anymore then it can be paid out differently from the usual pro rata.

I would suggest every PT asks for the £400 if they dont get it on their payslips thursday, thats what I will be doing. Perhaps even use the greviance procedure :hmmmm

Every one is aloud a view. Just that non union members are not listened to by the Management nationaly. Any disagrement you have in the work place as a non union member is delt with on a one to one basis. Where as the union members are at liberty to organise and elect a spokesperson from within the ranks to support any member at a local level then call on support at area regonal and national level if disagrements are not resolved nationaly. As a non union member can you afford an employment lawyer at a tribunial.

You have views just as everyone else within the work place however the methods of communication with your employer are somewhat limited. So utilise the facilities of the union machinery and join up and organise become rep and get active. I personally feel that part timers need a voice within the union and as many full time union members fail to get involved within the union the door is open for you to do something positive about your frustrations. Remember your union is only as good as its local active members dont sit by on the sidelines and grumble come on in and get involved and change from within.

See you at conference sometime i hope?

Dingo has already posted in this forum today...but not on this topic. As there has not been a definitive answer yet i'm assuming there has been a major cock up with the wording, so Royal mail and the union are probably frantically trying to concoct a cover story as to why it should be Pro rata. All I would say is THE WORDS ARE THE WORDS.....ALL EMPLOYEES TO RECEIVE £400 :nana :nana :nana I like bigdaz's idea about a grievance if royalmail don't adhere to the words of the agreement. I will certainly be quirying it if i don't get the £400.
