Management claim to like competition and the free market. Maybe they should all be put on short term contracts. When their contracts are not renewed and they can't get jobs in the private sector, they will realise what their true value is.

I don't want anyone to say that if management are put on short term contracts, workers will have to be put on them too. We have a different union and different agreements. A high turnover of managers is acceptable if it is the only way to ensure a good standard of management. A high turnover of workers is not desirable because of the increased costs of recruitment and training and the inevitable drop in quality of service which will fail the regulator's requirements.

Managers need to have a basic level of comprehension to understand written agreements and instructions. For most of our managers, including professional union officials, only genetic modification would equip them with the skills to do their jobs properly.

Maybe they should just be put on 25hr contracts. It would be an accurate reflection of the amount of work they do, and the business would save during holidays and sick leave.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.
