No,this merely continues on from the previous agreement,so any additional time will be utilised(or abused)
the real worry though is,at least before we had national agreements in place, specifically the 3 1/2 hour delivery span,we
could at least argue that any lapsed duties had to be achievable within this time, now it's completely open-ended!

that last point is a very good point, and well made!

Our office, ignorant, arrogant, using d.o.m. as already informed us that even when the office revision is sorted nothing will change regarding lapsing of duties as traffic ( mail ) permits, otherwords he's going to continue to collapse the twelve duties and continue to pressure the same staff that does it now, " I did it myself for 3 days but was stopped as it was costing him too much to cover my own duty as i refused to start before my time and also go over my finnish time, i love the look on his face when he says good morning through gritted teeth and false smile ". I was under the impression that only upto 6 duties, over 2 days ,monday & tuesday, 1 bundle of mail within walking distance of the office, would be collapsed, yet staff are being dropped of in vans a distance away and with nye on a full bag. Anyone got any views on this.

Get on to your area rep,you 'should' have some kind of local agreement on this.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You have to make sure the office traffic is correct.Ask for a manual count.
You have to make sure the standards he is using for prep, both at IPS and frame, are agreed standards.
If you still have surplus indoor hours then you end up lapsing.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No really - you thought that? Well I didn't see that in the agreement so ........................

Well although the delivery revision document was withdrawn it does show the direction management want to take concerning lapsing.
Does the proposed duty structure allow sufficient flexibility to manage both short term (daily/weekly/seasonal) workload variability and longer term traffic decline?
Does it?....Well management obviously think it should.

Hey ft, does this mean, well ..............lapsing? As well as the inclusion of D2D in workload and longer deliverys? Well I am surprised that delivery officers have so much spare time every day - it makes you wonder who has identified that spare time - must be folk who sit on their arrris all day looking at ways to make others work harder and then say it's protecting full time jobs.
a lot of people only have themselves to blame- come in early, have no bait, use your car and run about like a lunatic and this is what you get. its just a pity the rest of us get dragged down with them.

Well you could say that mick BUT we all know that duties should have been created without the use of private cars, as per the agreement, but we all know that isn't what happened in some offices and in fact was still a presence quite recently in ours because it is easier for managers, but absolutely NO credit was given to delivery officers for that use in making up time. Duties have been created without due reference to travel to site and in fact some duties have been allocated to people purely on the basis that they actually USE a car.
The banning of private cars under the new agreement will probably do more to create jobs than the inclusion of D2D into workload.

I feel sorry fer the postie in Emmerdale, that duty is too cushy, methinks Crozier is gonna lapse it & he is gonna have to move to Hotten,do his walk there ,then back to Emmerdale to deliver ,Amos will be turning in his grave
But on a serious note, why can't all changes in the office be put on the notice board or announced in WTLL with either the CWU rep's signature,or his/her presence to agree with what changes are happening,oh i forgot post-ballot,same sh*t,different day
