What possible link could there be, between spellings and intelligence? :hmmmm
Spelling is a skill, which is learned as a Child (usually). But just because someone has difficulties with that particular skill. It doesn't mean that they aren't going to be good at Science, Maths, IT, etc., does it?
Then there are the people with Disabilities, like Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, etc.. Which effect their ability to spell (and for the same reason, grammar too). But they're often just as intelligent, and sometimes more so, than those with perfect spellings and grammar. :hmmmm

Good spelling and grammar is VERY important, even if this is 'just a forum'.
You're taking the piss right?
No. You need a BASIC level of spelling and grammar. How can you hope to get your point across if you can't even spell correctly or use the correct words?
No punctuation can make a post hard to read and understand.
There
Their
They're
Where
Were
We're

All different words and mean different things. THIS is my #1 gripe.
I'm not saying you have to be perect, just take five seconds to check you've used the right word and spelt it correctly.
Oh, and WALL OF TEXT is never good.
You're not taking the piss!

I wasn't going to flag it up as it could be seen as pedantic, but seeing as you are commenting on the grammar of others....

Good spelling and grammar is VERY important

There's a basic error in that phrase my friend.

Are,not is.

Personally I dont have a problem , as long as I can read and understand what is posted. Infact some of the spelling mistakes are a giggle and provide a lighter moment , which we need from time to time. I left school in 1975 and google is my best friend, in respect of spelling, as for grammer , i`ll pass .

Ditto - although punctuation and basic sentence structure does help me overlook any other mistakes. I think everyone knows how I feel about TEXT talk and CAPS LOCKS. :Very Happy :Very Happy

Pedant mode off.

But surely in pedant mode you would have remembered the apostraphe in "It's"?

I, however, make no claims to correct grammar or spelling, so don't bother pointing out my foibles.
As i said: "hoisted with my own petard". I wouldn't care so much but i had lined up a list of commonly made mistakes, including the its/it's one and then scrubbed it as i thought it was getting out of hand.

My grammar is fine, she's 89 and still scrubs the front step.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Easily done until you realise "wheather" isn't even a word.
