Another great artical Roy. I just hope that enough of the Customers read it, and realise what Delivery Posties have to put up with. And more importantly, that it isn't their Posties fault, when they find a pile of Door 2 Door, but no letters on their mat.

Re: Royal Mail's plan for junk deliveries
There is some thing in Work Method Study called, "Time Series Analysis."
This method of assessing work tasks suggest that there is FINITE Time to complete a set of tasks, FINITE...NO EXTRA TIME !!!
Surely, this system can be used to time the "ACTUAL/REAL TIME" it takes to complete tasks, not RM Guesstimates?
Work Method Study and or Time and Motion Studies should be utilised and be Independantly 1. Recorded, 2. Assessed and 3. Analysed to ensure it is...
VALID, FAIR, REASONABLE AND ACTUALLY POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE.
Test should be undertaken to ensure we aren't getting bamboozled by RM's Psudo-science of facts and figures that they present.
Remember..."There are Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics !"

"voted overwhelmingly ... 2:1"
or 36% of union members if you look at it that way.
I give up, I really do.

Nice to see the usual plethora of ill informed sanctimonious self righteous morons going on about something they know absolutely nothing about.
It's 6.9% over 3 years, which is actually a pay cut for the majority of us.
Those prep figures for throwing off the D2D's are somewhat ambitious. Not to mention all this talk about taking the extra workload into account when doing a revision of the walks. Does anyone really expect our deliveries to get smaller and not bigger?
Apparently we voted it on overwhelmingly though, so all we can do now is figure a way to make the most out of a really crap situation. If that's at all possible.
