Yeah, probably comes from a long line of forelock-tugging "I knows my place, Sir" peasents, as well.

I likes my history, TBT. :Very Happy
Somehow, having studied the events of the summer of 1381, I cannot ever imagine that two of the rebellion's leaders, Wat Tyler and Fr.John Ball, were ever forelock-tugging peasants, sure they were ordinary men who were looked down upon by the idiots that made up the landed gentry in those days, but they were men who had immense pride in themselves, and were able to instill some of their self-belief in thousands of peasants.
I'm sure that, as there are today, there were peasants who spurned the opportunity to walk with their heads held high, and continued with their servile forelock-tugging.
Human nature, eh?

I don't know about you H but I suspect that our heads are in the clouds and if I had any hair at the front I certainly wouldn't be tugging it - although.........

Could be that our heads are in the clouds, dvb....but I quite like it up here, myself. :Very Happy
There is a saying in Mayfair, "Worn ort never tug worn's forelock in front of the tradesmen," or is it more to do with picking noses, I forget! :Very Happy

weve yet another manager..near normal.x postie.tells us not to wait for mis sorts, which is not really missorts but late mail(thankyou bristol) :evil/mad
i cut off most days but some i just forget the time and finish, the other day he said he did me a favour helping me book short term holiday(i gave about 4 weeks notice i was moving house)and he said why should i help you if you wont help me....i pointed out on the scale of helping the other out its very firmly stacked aginst him at just one time,ever..

i left my cut off and went out.but the more and more it irritaed me..is he insinuating that if i keep cutting off he wont do his job properly where i am concerned.if i want a day off(entitled)then i might not get it ,even if its avalable...clear harrasment to me..
