Re: Time to stop chasing time
Yes I'm sure you do, otherwise you'd be slithering along the ground - you sound just like all the chattering classes, who have no sense of unity just look after number one, you are the kind of person who has brought this union to what it is today - you are a disgrace to the many members who have sacrificed much over the years to get those very real terms in pay and conditions to be given away for much less than 30 pieces of silver by the likes of you.SexyLegs wrote:cheetah - pretty sure you'll find that 'male' in the gender heading means I'm 'male' - lol
I'm an ex footballer, I know what time games kick off, it's a lifestyle choice you now need to make isn't it, if you want to be a postal worker then you'll have to make some sacrifices, or grow a backbone and insist you can't finish later than 1.30pm on a saturday, they will find a solution for you, so cheetah, do you have the balls to tell your DOM you have to finish early on a sat or are you just all mouth and trousers on forums?
The latter I suspect.
And for your information i work to rule, in at 6am, off at 1.20pm or 2pm if break taken, unless I want the o/t....works for me but I have a backbone ;)

Sexylegs said quote
We had it very easy for a very long time and now we're moving into the real world and some of you don't seem to like it, well get over it and get on with it cos all your managers want you to do is work the hours you are paid for, is that such a crime? In any other job you wouldn't expect to leave 2 hours early just because you'd completed the task you were given to do would you, you'd be found something else to do or you'd make that task last all day.
Royal Mail aren't a charity but most postal workers have been sponging off them for years and years....think of all the times in the past you made time on your deliveries, no-one is asking you to pay that back,
Sexylegs I will give you a history lesson , In the past, When you went for a interview for a job with RM , you were told , " you would not make money , but would make time." That was how it was , it allowed you to go to your second job and make up your money . That was standard practice. When we went to SDD we were led to believe it was job and finish , carrying on the practice.
Now over the years things have changed and now you get reasonable money but no time. It is a hard thing , to change a way of working and some still chase time , but the majority accept things have changed. The problem we have now , is the pendulum has swung to much the other way now. This is why people are angry , they don`t mind working to time , it is the B+H , lapsing , that was suppose to be April to September , if time allowed and now is all year . Not being allowed to book OT when they go over time. Which is why some people come in early and don`t take breaks. If some are still making time , than it is management fault for not making the walks equal.

Re: Time to stop chasing time
i have had a few jobs over the years but never seen such a good work force as rm working so hard straight from the off 1st thing in the morning and we know why this is because we want to finish early but i told my mate how hard everyone works and why but i also said if they ever take that advantage away it will kill everyones enthusiasm to work so hard

If you pay well below the average wage and then nick the pension ,what do you think the end result might be? It's not basic science let alone rocket science

Oh I don't know - it makes perfect sense really, you get the chauffeur to drop you off in the Rolls, wander in early, race round like - well, a secret millionaire, couldn't give a FF for your colleagues who actually need a job to make ends meet and say what a wonderful life this is - I think this guy is ex Eton and is secretly a Tory Toff.Cheetah wrote:Don't tell us your a secret millionare (don't have to!)SexyLegs wrote:Only do the job to keep fit BELIAL.................I ran my own business for a few years until my dad had a heart attack, purely my choice to do this, I don't have to, I want to :)![]()

Re: Time to stop chasing time
The only situation where there will be no time to be made is if every office has a return and sign out policy. Finish on the streets means the quick ones finish early. Always has, always will. Start times will be later, walks will be longer but the end result will be the same.
I suppose i'll have to work later than 11.30, but never mind.
