You have to start coming in on time, working your hours, taking your break and cutting off if you haven't completed, of course you're not going to be as quick as others on that job if you only do it once in a blue moon, ask for more prep time or you may have to cut off as you have something important to do after your shift, you don't have to tell them what, childcare is always a top bargaining tool but the crux is.....stop working for nothing, stop running round and stop going over, even if they will pay you, for the next 6 months we all need to work to rule, if it means cutting off then so be it, you can't be persecuted for doing your contracetd job can you.........stand up to the bully boys, take no s**t and when they argue with you just smile and say.......sorry, I can't do it, it's feels magical :)

Yeah I agree with you sounds great in theory ..but do it in our office and you will lose your job as you will be seen as not capable (was told this today) as there are plenty that can complete said walk without cutting off or requesting overtime !!...runners..early starters etc etc...truth is us posties have not got a hope in hell of getting fairly treated especially the new ones..and its just going to get worse :arrrghhh

DON'T come in early. They'll come to expect it and then when you genuinely can't complete in your time, they'll throw it back at you.

They don't think any better of you for doing it!!

Secondly, if your round isn't prepped fully to enable you to just bundle off and go out, go and explain to the manager that, as a result of them not covering the workload correctly, you'll be going over your time. Then ask, do they want to pay it as overtime or would they rather you cut off and brought mail back?
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
