I voted yes so that must make me stupid mindless idiot ? 6 hour walks and 20 d2d . Get bloody real you probable only work an 8 hour day . Do the job properly , don`t come in early , no cars on delivery , take your meal break all things the CWU reps have been telling members for years but always fell on deaf ears . I do the job right . I don`t mind my PHG getting the 20 quid because at the moment he doesn`t get the early shift payment or d2d . I wont lose anything as it gets paid 52 weeks . D2d into workload is going to protect your jobs and yes maybe you will be out longer as once the walk sequencing machines are up and running you will have less indoor work . Maybe they will pay you to sit on your arse and do nothing ? I doubt it ! Hopefully industrial relations will improve and we will all be involved in what changes have to be made . Did you vote?

It's too late to do anything about it now, the YES vote is in........ GOD HELP US !!

All, I urge you to read the following article re the Conservatives' plans to privatise RM. Without a doubt the Tories will privatise RM to the highest bidder as this is what the party stands for. Once in private hands, 'efficiency' will be the name of the game and jobs will go at an even faster rate and we shall all be made to work much harder than we already do. I for one will vote Labour as they clearly have shelved all plans for privatisation. Last year Labour only planned a part-privatisation, the Tories will go for 100% and a private equity house is being lined up - we all know what a PE house will do to the company.

If you dont believe me read here http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20100414/tu ... 6b408.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I encourage you all to think before you vote, dont be fooled by The Sun and The Times - they are only biased against Labour as their owner Rupert Murdoch is all pally with David Cameron. Read The Independent for an unbiased view of what the REALITY is.

Please encourage all our colleagues to think before they vote, I really dont want the Tories messing up our jobs in the company we love . I still have some time to go before I retire

can I also add to ignorant people that the deal we have received is actually a great one. compare us to others in similar jobs - now no job compares exactly to us posties, but compare us to others such as waiters, shop assistants, warehousemen and labourers on building sites, i think we have excellent pay and conditions, and lets be honest, we dont get worked THAT hard.

if you wanted to know more about D2D and mailshots you can find out very easily, no point making wild assumptions about what it is and isnt.

you need to remember we are losing revenue every year. accounts do NOT lie, they are audited by independent accountants every year. bottom line is revenue is falling. not just in the UK, but in every major country across the world - including USA, Germany and France. people are using email and internet more. think about it, you get your bills, statements and even airline tickets via email now. multiply that across all the peiople in the country and you have a significant drop in posted lettersplus, downstream access is taking away further mail from us. yes we are carrying more packets, but there are plenty of competitors in this market.

bottom line is thinks like D2D are there to generate more revenue and hence keep us in jobs. so dont complain about the extra work, be glad the extra work is going to pay our wages every week.

we need to stop this bickering, infighting, moaning and complaining. we work for a great organisation and we have some fantastic people who have a great laugh together in the canteen and in the sorting offices and MCs across the country. if you dont like it, why dont you leave? we know why, because there is no better alternative. would you rather work on a building site or tesco and get treated like dirt, or would you rather get the respect of the public when they see us in our uniform. i for one know most people on my rounds and have great relationships with them. i wouldnt change it for the world.

rant over!

Have you just been rescued from a desert island after being castaway with no contact with the outside world at all for 50 years? Or have you had a bang on the head?
