I would think a grievance against the LM and and Sam or wilful delay and then cut off.dvbuk55 wrote:Here we have a scenario begging to be a disaster.mclovin wrote:I will be doing 80% an not a single one more.
And frankly I couldnt care who throws them in on my day off, or if they're not done, cos I still wont be doing them.
Joe, the cover on your day off, realises there is a sh1t load of D2D to go and decides to take a sickie, they draft in Sam at short notice who says I'm not prepared to do the D2D but I'll clear the delivery. Now you and I know the D2D is going to become part of the workload and save untold jobs, total bullshit of course, however the line manager desperate to get rid of the delivery says OK. Next day you walk in to be faced with 33.2% of D2D, you are told that because it is workload YOU have to take them - what do you do?

Ah yes - but there is expediency which allows for delay and bearing in mind that they are not time sensitive YET - Sam has agreement from the line manager to leave them in, your day has just been extended by 30 mins to allow for flexibility, which you will/may recover tomorrow or not - a grievance may well be considered vexatious and you will be working to your time.LJR wrote:I would think a grievance against the LM and and Sam or wilful delay and then cut off.dvbuk55 wrote:Here we have a scenario begging to be a disaster.mclovin wrote:I will be doing 80% an not a single one more.

But if Sam wants to do the delivery he would HAVE to take the D2Ds as they ARE part of his workload for the day, no matter what a dense LM thinks he can get away with!dvbuk55 wrote:Here we have a scenario begging to be a disaster.mclovin wrote:I will be doing 80% an not a single one more.

Sam doesn't WANT to do the delivery, Sam wants a deal and the line manager wants rid of the delivery - believe me that scenario is going to happen.REDLETTER wrote:But if Sam wants to do the delivery he would HAVE to take the D2Ds as they ARE part of his workload for the day, no matter what a dense LM thinks he can get away with!dvbuk55 wrote:Here we have a scenario begging to be a disaster.mclovin wrote:I will be doing 80% an not a single one more.

How about giving Sam a kick in the bollox for stitching up his work mates.
Just a thought.
Just a thought.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: d2d part timers spares
I'll be keeping a record of what D2D's I have delivered for the week to date, down to every last house number.
I will then sign and ask my floater to sign to confirm the delivery points they delivered to. I will then give the manager a copy and keep one for myself.
Too much room for getting shafted on this. I ain't going to be one of them!!

No, he won't be getting 20quid for 1 day's worth, cos he will be covering other rounds on other days.venger wrote:He'd better do them. He might not like doing them, but there's no chance I'll have time now.
Oh, and if he's getting £20 for doing 1 day's worth and I'm getting £20 for doing 5, then he sure as sherbert can do them!
If he only covers one round on one day, he will be getting 4quid, before tax to do it.
Some of you full-timers, some of you, really are totally deluded with your ideas of how "easy" us part-timers get it.

Do what I do,sign off every street on the sheet in advance (that you are going to do) and leave as close to 120 as you can for the floater. If he doesn't do them it's his fault not yours.Pretty bullet proof doing it that way.
I've had a guy go out after his shift to complete streets for not doing them on my day off.I know it's shite for him,but he should have done them in the first place.

Thats the fairest way to deal with it but we all know it won't happen .At the end of the day if the floater doesn't do them its willful delay and managment should have the balls to deal with it, but that won't happen either

I just thought though.......What if your day off is at start of week and you get time sensitive D2D's on a Friday or Saturday??
Bearing in mind that another delivery may receive the same D2D earlier in week.
It is without a doubt a huge balls up waiting to happen!
Well done CWU!!!
