Re: your choice
maybe if people on the internet moaning had joined the union and had the vote then this pile of crap would'nt have happened.el_cartero wrote:isnt this a bribe then?

if people could'nt be arsed joining the union especially when they knew how important this vote was then there's no point in moaning about it afterwards.
no point in renewing my season ticket now so thanks to the 50,000 who didnt even bother to vote.

Re: your choice
. Post comm and the Government have sticthed us up on down stream access so Royal Mail have lost the profitable upstream market , remember just 50 compaines control 80% of the mail`s market and Royal Mail have been left with the most costly part the final mile which accounts for 60% of Royal Mail`s overall cost.
Dingo, I agree with what you say in some respects.
what really makes me mad is that we get told the company is in dire straights etc etc, when it is done deliberately(alledgedly)
by the government!!!!
They have the power as the 'owner' to make sure competition is fair( completely not the case).
Too many bloody greedy capatalist money men in the capital thats the problem!!!

Re: your choice
The 50,000 who didn't bother to vote ARE obviously already union members. I think it most unlikely that most of the people who care enough about the job to visit this site are the same people who couldn't be bothered to take an interest in the ballot.mailman71 wrote:maybe if people on the internet moaning had joined the union and had the vote then this pile of crap would'nt have happened.el_cartero wrote:isnt this a bribe then?

Re: your choice
Don't worry el_cartero, the CWU members will be 'consulted' on attendance patterns.... and then the DOM will introduce what he likes anyway. The CWU higher-ups are never going to authorise a local ballot for strikes... they're in the pocket of RM now this deal has been ratified.dingo wrote:
So if you are leaving the union then that is your choice but please dont expect to be consulted on attendance patterns , the revison ....
And if duties are allocated on seniority, sorry - length of service - you'll get the same duty whether you pay union dues or not ...
Anything else would be discrimination in the workplace

just wondering if RM will recognise this vote because when there was a low turnout for strike action they said the ones that didnt vote didnt support it

No
In a revision info will be briefed at WTLL and displayed on notice boards, you can speak your manager about any changes that may get proposed to your duty/D.O.

Ah, there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.spilie wrote:just wondering if RM will recognise this vote because when there was a low turnout for strike action they said the ones that didnt vote didnt support it
RM will say:
21,820 voted no
42,023 voted yes, and 53,000 didn't vote against the deal, so they must be happy with it
So, that's about 22k opposed vs 95,000 not opposed.
In RM-land, "carried with 81% approval"

Re: your choice
el cartero, I hope you have plenty of seniority, but at a guess I dont think you do, because the best duties will be snapped up by the highest seniority, leaving you with the thin end of the wedge.
Beside the office has to agree to a repick, it may not be automatic.
