DVUK55 fair one, BUT one would hope that the F/T P/T ratio would be severley monitered.

Jack Straw as i explained early on to DirtyHarry
one of my main reasons for voting yes is for the chance of young people on low wages will HOPEFULLY get the chance of a FULLTIME job.

You keep using the word hope like it is some sort of magic mantra DD, but the fact of the matter is we pay union subs for representation to ENSURE better working conditions, not winners, not losers and definitely not hoping there is a silver lining.Delivery Donkey wrote:DVUK55 fair one, BUT one would hope that the F/T P/T ratio would be severley monitered.

I keep using the word hope as i don't trust RM as much as the next man, they have always as far as i know (20 years +) not kept there word on any agreement,i have chosen to make a leap of faith with this agreement,if history repeats itself i may come to regret it, BUT at the moment i'm prepared to give the UNION and RM a chance.

It wasn't a dig as such,I don't know you so why would I have a dig? I worded it badly.Delivery Donkey wrote:Proper Postie was that a dig at me???
I don't understand please explain why does what speak volumes???
You acknowledge people are embarrassed to admit voting yes, correct? Why would you be embarrassed or afraid to admit how you voted unless you knew, deep down, you had just shafted your work colleagues?

I don't think i mentioned the word embarressed but if i did, i'm not, it just came across some hours ago from other threads that because people voted yes, i should hide in a corner out of the way.
Don't get me wrong i'm not here opening any champagne or anything.

Might I suggest that the leadership tactic of shouting loud and long that there is no plan B ,you have no choice, if you vote No RM will do it anyhow and you will not get the bung,Carnoustie wrote:Perhaps the question you should be asking 53000 CWU Members isDirtyHarry wrote: I have one question.......WHY, OH, WHY, DID YOU VOTE YES?????
WHY CAN'T YOU BE BOTHERED TO VOTE ????![]()
The result would be a tad easier to stomach if it was a big majority or a big turnout. But you should reserve your anger for the 53000 whose votes could have swung it to a huge NO
well it just may have been designed to give folks the idea that they would be wasting their time putting an X in a box. Just a thought.
Bye

You know, DD...There's a future as a Miss World contestant beckoning for you, just add "I love animals" and "I would love to see an end to World poverty", and Bob's your uncle, Fanny's your aunt, hey presto, you're Miss Great Britain.Delivery Donkey wrote:DirtyHarry one of my main reasons for voting yes is for the chance of young people on low wages will HOPEFULLY get the chance of a FULLTIME job.
The naievety of some, no, MOST of my colleagues is quite staggering.

What i do find annoying at best is the half of CWU members that didn't even bother.
Nah, when push comes to shove, it's those members who voted YES that have ensured our job slides down the shitter another few inches.

Well, I don't know about you, but when I'm backed into a corner under that kind of scenario, my first instinct is to do the opposite of what they want, and call their bluff with a big fat NO vote (which I did). If my grandad and his generation had just shrugged their shoulders and said 'that Hitler geezer is probably going to win anyway ....'BELIAL wrote: Might I suggest that the leadership tactic of shouting loud and long that there is no plan B ,you have no choice, if you vote No RM will do it anyhow and you will not get the bung,

NOT voting at all has handed RM everything they wanted before we went out !
To paraphrase a certain sig on here:
Make the job intolerable, make me go on strike and make me lose money, shame on RM.
Get an agreement with more holes than Swiss cheese, then not even bother to vote, shame on me !

Nah, I'm too long in the tooth to be mithered about the usual illiterate wasters who can't be arsed to put an "X" in a box on a ballot form.Carnoustie wrote:

There was more than enough of a turn-out for a viable result, and despite having been bitten countless times, the majority voted YES to yet another miserable, piss-poor, deal....AGAIN !
Those who continually vote for worsening conditions of employment, cannot be allowed to hide behind the skirts of the literati forever.
The fact is, postal workers were faced with a stark choice, either vote YES for a job with worse conditions, or vote NO to the depressingly familiar descent of our conditions down the crapper, and as per usual, the judgement of colleagues was found wanting.
