It is now essential that all CWU Branches and local representatives support the position agreed by the National Executive of non cooperation at local level on efficiency/budget savings and changes to attendance times until such time as a National Agreement has been reached.
It has become clear that whilst national negotiations have been continuing some Royal Mail managers have put forward proposals to introduce local efficiency agreements. We have informed Royal Mail that this is completely unacceptable and will inevitably bring about conflict.
Further meetings have been diarised with Royal Mail for Wednesday 4th April and Thursday 5th April.

We told them where to ram it ages ago.
They are still putting proposals forward to change our start times to a six oclock start, and are trying to cut our quadrant staff hours. All this despite being told by our reps that we aint talking until they sort out IR issues.
Their idea of efficiency seems to be, one manager going off for 7 months on his own and coming back with a local business plan with a target of 6% savings.
The thick tw**s dont seem to understand the terms of the efficiency agreement which includes "No pre-determined targets" and "Any efficiency review should be jointly undertaken ".
We know the next thing they will go for is executive action.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
