no its a democratic actually
Actually it was not very democratic as the process had many admitted failings including non receipt of ballot papers and the ability to receive multiple papers. If the vote turned out to be a NO vote the CWU and Royal Mail would REballot on these issues alone.

Who's going to do that now?

No, democratic is not quite the correct word either.

so its a yes and by a fair margin, i wonder if in 6 months you'll meet anyone who admits to voting for it.
I wonder if, tomorrow morning, you can find anyone who will admit to not even bothering to vote at all

Shouldn't be difficult to find one. There were 53,055 papers not returned.

Presumably, that's the same 42,000 who didn't use their vote in 2007 being joined by another 9,000 numpties this time

It would only have needed 4 in 10 non-voters to actually complete their ballot paper and send it off with a No vote, for the overall result to have been a narrow 42,023 to 43,042 NO vote.

Didn't vote ? No sympathy from me :evil/mad

It wasn't rigged just some people didn't even read the agreement but listened to the reps telling them how good it was......

May be if a full copy of the agreement had been included with the ballot paper, the result may have been different.

Unfortunately I doubt it. The sad fact is that the majority of members that bother to vote on any ballot, do as instructed by the CWU. The CWU know this and the scaremongering that there is no alternative only helps their cause.

Yes! I totally agree with you, the DVD sent out to members had limited information, members did not really know what they were voting for. The vote would have been different if members knew what they were really voting for, I just hope that we do not get shafted.

That is quite funny :Very Happy And we'll do 1 hours less work per week as well

I don't think it was in any way rigged, I think the propaganda machine did it's job very well.

P.S. and I think many people didn't have a clue what the second part of the voting slip was and so didn't bother voting.
I notice that the second question does not feature on the official response.
Perhaps that is how it was rigged ... it's only a no if you voted no to both questions!
