Truly unbelievable, especially by that amount. and,as someone pointed out, the polls only closed today, how come the 'results' are already through.? With regret, I will also be cancelling my subs,there must be an objection to this somwhere along the line. Results in such a short space of time is questionable to say the least.

The reality is that the ballot did not close till the post arrived today. Hence the announcement today. If you believe that the electoral reform ballot services are corrupt then go and complain to the regulator. The reality is that the membership has spoken and they have voted yes.

Precicely why I'm so angry, considering that the results were leaked LAST NIGHT!
As I've already said: If there's a rational explination as to how that was possible, then I'll apologise. If not, and if the results (quantity for and against, rather than yes or no) are confirmed officially, either on the CWU Website, or via LTB. Then questions should be asked. Don't you agree?

Moaning about it or crying conspiracy will not change it.
The fact is that most people follow the union recommendation in the majority of ballots and it is usually by around the same percentage as this ballot has shown.
Many of the guys you have spoken to saying they are going to vote no, will change when they get home in the cold light of day.

The main thing now is to get the best out of the deal as we can and stick together.
If it turns out to be so terrible and RM go back to their old habits, we will be out again and back to square one.

Postal votes are counted as a rolling concern i.e. when they are received and a tally kept. They aren't counted all in one go at the end. hence, it would have been clear last night, which way the vote was going to go, as it was such a significant margin, not enough would turn up today to change it.
