"However, DOMs should first review whether this activity has previously been performed in the individual’s own time as expected or an element of slack time within the duty has been used in practice."

Re: Planning the introduction of D2D into workload:Doc
so in others words if you are a postie who if you finish a bit early comes back and preps your d2d to take you up to your time ( working all your hours as expected) then no time put into your duty to prep
if you prep your d2d if it is quiet instead of sitting on your frame swinging your legs and doing nothing then no time put into your duty for prep
and is also states that there will be no return function for d2d anymore and then any left over at the end of the week will be investigated
so lets just wait for the first lot of sackings and signing a new willful delay letter that incorporates d2d
because unless you can prove you have delivered them and someone dumps a load under your frame you will be disciplined you can count on that

Re: Planning the introduction of D2D into workload:Doc
Going by this document then when we get a day specific D2D we will need an extra 24 minutes prep time and 32.4 minutes delivery time added (per 500 drops).
So an extra hours work and you can bet it will always be on a Bank holiday Saturday for the "SALE OF THE CENTURY at the local furniture store!!!)
We will all want to cut off and not complete so the poor DOMS are going to be extremely busy....if they can be persuaded to stay and work late on a Saturday!!

Good Practice
· On Mondays in addition to sorting to 1/6th of delivery points OPGs may also wish to sort D2D items to any delivery points which are known to receive mail infrequently. This will reduce the need for cold calling during the week.
How will you keep track of where you've delivered if you do this? sounds a bit random to me.

That's the way I do it now....I prep 1/4 per day (the day off cover in my DO don't do D2D's (yet)) then any that I am going to that don't usually get mail if I am going there that day. We all have houses that we seldom go to I am sure..and you always remember when you have had to go there that week......If you forget then they get two lots

i dont understand how you get LESS time to prep MORE items.
Also, laying items on the bench and prepping them that way instead of straight into the frame individually takes longer imho

The security book already includes D2D.feduppostie wrote:so lets just wait for the first lot of sackings and signing a new willful delay letter that incorporates d2d
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Your right CCR it does but i think the biggest security change for D2D is the fact that there will no longer be a D2D returns system so ANY excess will be investigated.clashcityrocker wrote:The security book already includes D2D.feduppostie wrote:so lets just wait for the first lot of sackings and signing a new willful delay letter that incorporates d2d

So if I bring 10 back because I was given 10 extra (Ithink they are weighed not counted so there is always the possibility of an error) someone is going to investigate that? I doubt it and certainly not my DOM - he'll have plenty of other concerns.fishtank wrote:

If there are no returns what happens? Can we dump them in the confidential waste so the poor companies paying for the service never know?

No CCR no-one will investigate 10 but if someone throws a box under your frame you may have some explaining to do.clashcityrocker wrote:So if I bring 10 back because I was given 10 extra (Ithink they are weighed not counted so there is always the possibility of an error) someone is going to investigate that? What a no-returns system means is that yor DOM will have to explain why he has 10 boxes of excess D2D and you know which way sh*t flows CCR.
And yes small amounts can be disposed of locally.
15 The returns process will cease 1 week after the national agreement comes into force, giving time to remove any undelivered items remaining from the pre-agreement period. Steps have been taken to stop surplus items being provided to delivery offices, so there should be no sizeable volumes remaining undelivered in the office. Any surpluses should be investigated as the system is not able to provide additional labels and therefore boxes of items. All delivery points (except opt outs) should be delivered so that any occasional surplus materials may be disposed of locally.

Instead Royal Mail confirmed to the union they want agreements which both sides believe are fair and have both got confidence in..
Not a bad start.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
