lol this ones a good 1, u have no set time to clean the vans but the managers ensure the drivers do it on a light day - i thought this whole process was to make it so that their are no light days and everyone works the hours they are paid for.

"There is no fixed time or frequency for vehicle cleaning as this is not a legal requirement. The 'drivers manual' states that vehicles should be cleaned as necessary, but drivers should always ensure that the windows and mirrors etc are clean and fit-for-purpose. As such no fixed time is expected to be built into driving duties for vehicle cleaning. Instead managers should adopt a pragmatic approach by ensuring that drivers perform this task on light traffic days in the spirit of flexibility."

so the driver fannies about cleaning the van whilst the zombie walker preps - cool lol

Strange isn't it, there is a controversial document and up pops dingo to say it was before the agreement, then defends it and doesn't say what the new agreement is, same with the introduction of D2D it isn't agreed YET until tomorrow of course then we find out what the real agreement says. Then of course we will hear the same old same old - well you voted for it.

unless as the 'proposal' states you are a rural or other delivery that has your prep done for you and you don't start till 11 and finish a 7 after having done a collection

so what happens to the collection staff??? More job losses

protecting full time jobs????????????????

Dvbuk Royal Mail have an army of managers who write documents / policies , but these are not agreed in fact at the moment I have the Door to Door document another on Peagsus Parameters version1.4 and the delivery duty design.

What I was saying these have not been agreed with the CWU. But some of the document is fact ie the workplan and last letter.

The union are due to meet Royal Mail this week and if the ballot is yes then maybe some progress can be made. Remember the CDV guidelines have been totally change and improved with union imput as a result of the workshops and hopefully they can do the same with these documents.

Look lets be honest on collections , Royal Mail have collasped wave 1 collections in a lot of places , and are doing counts on pillar boxes etc and some wave 2s have also been collasped.

Now the only way in the future we are going to protect collection jobs is if we in fill their work with either deliveries or processing.

If the number of collections are being cut then we either find them other work or we lose the jobs , Royal Mail are not going to pay 8 hours for only 5 hours worked. I would love to say they would but they are obbsessed with indivduals working all the hours they are paid for.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

for posties maybe

managers at our place do a max of 30 on a good week

can you imagine the frustration of being told you cannot claim o/t until at least sat as you 'may go under your hours before then' by someone who comes in at 6 and is gone by 12 ( 10 on a sat)

and yes they are full time

and we have complained but as was pointed out our rep comes in at 5 is done for 11 on a weekday and by 9.20 on a sat

I've been a member for nearly 13 years but no more

from now on I look after me and I don't need a union to do that

They're pretty close pmn, he wouldn't have put his head above the parapet if they weren't. The problem with these guys is they are like loose women as far as RM are concerned, they just cannot say NO.

Perhaps thats why we did'nt receive a copy of the agreement as the CWU seem to be making it up as time goes along :cuppa
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

• Does the proposed duty structure allow sufficient flexibility to manage both short term (daily/weekly/seasonal) workload variability and longer term traffic decline?

Good old flexibility rears it's ugly head again.
Anybody for some lapsing to go with your 6 hour delivery? :wave

Well done the 3 wise men on the site, 7.5 hour duties.....hope your proud of this.

It has taken the sacrafice of many over decades to get better conditions in RM, only for the CWU to give half of them back

Why don't we go the whole hog and send children up chimneys , after all, Its cost efficant
