Apparently the FSM counts both the flats and the letters, I was told that by the MC FSM manager.

What pees me off is the damn code sticker that is always put right over the address.

Those get thrown down the primary well away from me.

Also with the regards of 'some' area reps comments,it is looking that they either do not have a clue or are trying to pull a fast one.
The sat D2D,does it matter if it comes in on a fri, which it wont,it still has to be delivered on the timed day,of course there will be no extra payment for it.

Moving on from the 'don't read too much into RMC' herberts, you guys know what is what on here,it's up to you now.
Grassy knoll patter mate.I have 3 this week, same as I had last week and the week before that, and the week before that......repeat to fade.

Flag him up to HQ.
Do you think HQ will care, Postman? As he's pushing the YES vote on their behalf I seriously doubt it.

djchrisc wrote:Our area rep told our office almost the same thing, that day specific D2D cannot happen as all D2D items must be in your delivery office by the monday to complete by saturday. If they arrived later than monday then a claim for a payment could be made or you could just say no to doing the items that came in late.
The whole office questioned this and mentioned things like Easter bank holday monday were a certain major furniture store starts it never ending sale.
Or Christmas Eve with sales starting on boxing day, mothering sunday, fathers day the list goes on and on.
We also raised concerns over the uncapped issue of D2D, he said that "HE" didnt think we would get any more than we are now, if thats right why set it as uncapped why not just raise the number to say 5 max.
In the last few weeks leading up to the ballot it has been mentioned on others threads that the number of D2D items seems to have fallen in a lot of offices from 3 to just 1, is this Royal Mail holding them back until a YES vote comes in then they unleash a tidal wave of 6,7 8 or more.
If you base this on the "old" way D2Ds were presented into the DO, then yes they would have to be before Monday.

But if they become part of your "workload" how can the "old" arrangement work?

On a Monday you may have your 6 D2Ds, but say on a Wednesday a "date specific" comes in the DO for Saturday, it SHOULD be scheduled into the workload!!!!???
AND time made available to chuck them in the frame :whistle If you can't finish your duty in you time then OT would have to be paid, or you cut-off

This is of course only my opinion on how it would work...................Royal Mail may have their own, and the CWU may have another slant on it! :arrrghhh

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

For the record there will be no instant day specific door to door items.

The agreement states the following

THE CWU WILL BE INVOLVED IN QUARTERLY REVIEW MEETINGS, WHICH WILL PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE CWU AND ROYAL MAIL TO REVIEW OPERATIONAL CHALLENGES , PRODUCT DEVLOPMENTS , AND WORK TOGETHER TO IDENTIFY NEW PRODUCTS AND FURTHER GROWTH OPPORTUNITES, INCLUDING THE POTENTIAL FOR AUTOMATION WHICL WILL BE DRIVEN BY COMMERCIAL VIABILITY LINKED TO VOLUME.

BOTH PARTIES ALSO RECOGNISE THAT IN ADDITION TO GROWTH IN THE CORE PRODUCT FURTHER COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITIES ARE LIKELY TO EXIST PARTICULARLY FOR NAMED /SPECIFIC DAY(s) PRODUCTS AND OR SATURDAYS WHICH MAY PROVIDE ROYAL MAIL WITH ADDITIONAL SCOPE FOR INCREASED REVENUE. IN ORDER TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ANY POTENTIAL IN THIS AREA ANY FURTHER COMMERCIAL OPPORTUNITES WILL REMAIN SUBJECT TO ONGOING DIALOGUE, JOINT MONTIORING AND REVIEW AND WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED AND AGREED WITH THE CWU NATIONALLY AT THE QUARTERLY REVEIW MEETINGS WITH A VIEW TO CAPTURING ANY VIABLE OPPORTUNITES FOR MUTUAL BENEFIT OF ROYAL MAIL AND ITS EMPLOYEES AND TO ALSO DEAL WITH ANY WORKLOAD ISSUES.

So there will not be any day specific door to door on any day. This will be discussed at the quaterly review meetings and there will have to be more money on the table for the cwu to agree the day specific door to door.

How long will these review meetings last............6 months!!

is that no day specific d2d straight away as in ' there will be no increase to the amount of d2d straightaway'

as we were told by our rep and manager

and then I read my area will move to 4 per week as soon as the agreement is voted in - moving to 5 in july and 6 in January

I'm sure you have the best of intentions but I have been lied to enough - I don't believe a damn word from the cwu anymore and shall be resigning from the union

No that is how it reads there will not be day specific items until agreed . remember if Royal Mail fail them they have to pay compensation to the company plus the costs of setting up any extra staff they may take on as a result of any specific door to door drop. Remember most delivery on Saturdays until you have your revision .

Dingo it's not so long since you were telling us there would be no immediate increase in D2D.

Royal Mail read THAT differently. :cuppa
D2D sales are expected to ramp up as follows: 4 items from Agreement, 5 items from 12th July (to be confirmed) , 6 items from 3rd January and thereafter greater volumes as delivery methods roll out continues and D2D automation comes on stream.
