And it says d2d will be prepped last after sequenced mail and flats,25 in a minute is in an empty frame.

It is just not possible(even top 10%) to prep 37 d2d a minute into a FULL FRAME.

Workshops and live trials being going well dingo :cuppa .

The union should not be agreeing to them figures, a few simple tests in the workshops should clarify.

So, lets look at this scenario - some unlucky Floaters could be on a 100% call rate 5 days a week, with d2d's targeted for delivery on certain days within his group. If thats the case Thank Fu©k i've got my own duty, then again who's to say RM's grand plan ain't to get us out 5 days a week delivering leaflets... Can just see the future now - Royal Mail the Leaflet & Parcel company cause if Mail's falling 10% every year in 10 years there should be no Mail to deliver... :d'oh!

6 contracts 14 mins per day.
So unpacking one and prepping it takes 4 mins. Unpacking the next one and prepping it also takes 4 mins. Miraculously you can do the next one in half the time! I can see my DOM saying look, you've done that one in 2 mins, you should be able to do the rest in 2 mins!

Hold on! The forth one, you are amazingly quick by now, and can unpack and prep it in ONE MIN FLAT! wow! Same for the next one. Then the sixth one, OK you might have a bit of arm ache, so do it in 2 mins, half the time it takes to do the first one.

The union will not agree to them figures banner.
The union will come back in a short while with some slightly less ridiculous figure and we will all be so relieved that it's not as bad as we first feared that we will probably give the union a large round of applause for winning such a concession.

But as the union have told us that we won't be delivering a huge increase in D2D's, this must be wrong. ;liar

It isn't about manipulation, it is about common sense. How can leaflets take progressively less time as you prep more?

Is there something we're missing? Do you put the D2D together on the fitting before putting them in the frame to gain more time or something?

So already we have confilct and the agreement hasnt even been ratified!!!

Lets be honest now...these figures are an impossible work rate.

6 items in 14mins isnt possible even in an empty frame.

People are forgetting that d2ds come in different shapes and sizes.

Obviously the flimsy, greasy, thin peices of paper are going to take longer that a standard envelope. Simarlarly, a large bulky sally army pen thing will be more difficult to prep into a full frame than a virgin media mailshot.

10 mins for 3 contracts is not possible. I need at least 20 mins minimum to get 3 itmes into an empty frame. I time myself daily. FACT.

If the union havent agreed these standards then why the hell are Royal Mail producing these documents?!

This is absolute proof that if this agreement goes through we are totally screwed as RM have no intention of adhereing to a fair and managable workload else why would they produce this material.

Thanks CWU.

pickaname, when you say 20mins...what percentage of the items are you prepping out of interest?

On a 600+ delivery it would take me 45 - 60 mins to prep 3 items into the entire empty frame. 6 items in my opinion would be double the time. The planners (spanners more like) can talk about planning values and all this bull till the cows come home....in the real world prepping twice as many leaflets takes twice as long...FACT!
