To me this is just a free service, the DSA company pays us to deliver it to the address on the front of the envelope. Why then do we have to deliver it to the sender for free? seeing as the DSA company only want us to do "the final mile" then returning it to the company they have the contract with should be their responsibility.
If a DSA item is to be returned to sender for a reason caused by the sender, i.e incomplete address, no such address etc, then the items should
be returned in a yellow pouch to the parent mail centre, where the item is returned to the DSA SENDER & SURCHARGED. Your D.O should have
a procedure in place for the handling of this product specifically.

never heard or seen this
i would be surprised if any DO does this
anyone prove me wrong?

I remember this being talked about being set up just before I left RM - and that was in September 2008.

Not sure, but I have a feeling an alternative arrangement was agreed with the DSA companies last year, that RM charged them a certain amount each year to do it for them? (I think someone wrote a query about it to the Courier)

the guy re-appears a second later with a bundle of RTS that must have been 3 inches thick!! Merry F*****n Christmas!

Since the re-sign bedding-in period stopped yesterday and coming in for 0900, it looks like 1015-1030 is going to be my leaving time to start delivering, without even touching the "deads" (of which there is ~50 per day, ~125 businesses plus 475 residential)... only just reaching my final special minutes before 1300!

But then our DOM(?) has told me I should not claim overtime past 1430 on any day for time I either deliver/prep election or D2D material.

Given that I've finished the round and got back to the depot at 1520 and 1445 the last two days, what on should I do with the "deads?"

I just left them today and came home at 1450, i'll be damned if I'm going to spend ~15 minutes past my contracted time doing "deads" and not getting paid for it! If they will pay me overtime, I will happily deal with them myself without wasting time and claiming another ~75 minutes over the week :/

Now seriously considering "cutting off" each week once I know I will go over the 30 hour threshold for my Working Tax Credits :/

i had one house that was empty but still getting mail for loads of previous occupiers for about 6 months .One day a bloke tried to give me 2 black bags full of kill offs :no no told him to bin them or post them in the box himself ,never did see them :Very Happy
next time a customer gives me back some deads am i entitled to just take back the RM ones and tell them to post the dsa ones themselves :evil/mad

full timers have it good yes theres a differnt sleeping pattern but atleast you guys get to really do you job properly and arent rushed in 40 minutes to do everything like we are.and are out the door an hour or more earlier than part timers . and get a descent livable wage at the end of the week.

+ you guys are paid to 2pm??? asiff any of you ever work to 2pm ?

admit this
one day part timers will have the same right as full timers
