A very light day on the packets so got around ok. Our dom changed her mind AGAIN and told us we will not get paid for poll cards after all. So now we are all pissed off and feel quite robbed.

But it was a cracking sunny day out with a nice fresh start so there was some good in it.

In, frame not fully prepped again, this time the guy hadnt even bothered to do the flats but all his own walk was bagged and he was ready to go. Out with an enormous amount of lapsing, A4 council mailshot to all the doors, political party leaflets and loadsa packets. Back to lino asking how my prep has been as he's noticed me getting out progressively later everyday. Fireworks tomorrow no doubt. 1st letter in at 11:25 last letter going on 3. Bastard of a day all round.

No lapsing,less than half the frame prepped, all the flats, and there was loads of them, undone, a council mailshot and some election material. Threw it off with a begrudged 5 minutes of help. Did some o/t, got on me real walk after midday, finished after 4. Heavy, heavy day, me legs feel like lead and im off for a long soak.

Got in 5 mins early to find one idiot had prepped all his mech, he came in an hour early

asked him if he was being paid for that hour, of course he were'nt. So I had a go at him

Were'nt too much stuff there but there was a lot of weight, Sky Mags, Plant Mags infact all sorts of mags that people probably never read. Had a lot of Postal Ballots. Done with 5 mins to spare then had to wait round until the person I take out in the van to finish.......again.

Finished just in time on Monday. Tuesday, due to the shorter day, ended up going over. Loads of packets. 8 recorded items in all. Do wish they could get their act together and process stuff when it's meant to be done. We always get hammered for packets and recorded items on Tuesdays.

This has always been the way. I had only 4 things (1 reg) to sign on Mon and 16 (8 reg) today. My lot just have too much money to spend and hit the internet hard at the weekends

Wished I never had a day off yesterday, got in to find they had only done a 1st class(stamped not DSA)sweep on some of it and left the rest, taken no flats/packets. Apparently the managers 'forgot' it needed prepping. I took back 1 pouch of mail and did'nt touch the large packets. ******* ******!!!!!

Really heavy today. Loads of flats. Didn't get off the IPS until break time at 08.30. Still nowhere near thrown off at that time. Came off my break to find another 2 boxes. Got out about 11.15. Finished just before 4pm by the time I'd managed to pouch off. Got a phone call just over half way round my walk to tell me that my dad had been rushed off to the local hospital with a heart problem.

Not a good day by any means.

Hope he is OK - I had a similar experience when I was in the forces. Luckily I was in UK at the time and my bosses told me to drop everything and go. Can't see that ever happening at RM.

I hope he recovers quickly.

Thanks for that TBT Went to see him today. He's wired up on a monitor and due to have a pacemaker fitted tomorrow. He will be home just after the bank holiday. Apparently he had a heart rate of 20!

Yes thats right, it really isn't a typo on my part. Anyway, he's also got to have a bone marrow test, due to a very low haemoglobin reading and a full body scan, so some interesting times ahead.

Blimey thats not good I hope his ok.

My father was rushed into hospital suffering a heart attack 15 years ago whilst I was on delivery. His still going strong at 77 years.

Bloody scary time though and I am thinking of you.

It kinda puts recent days at RM into prospective.

Well today was a bit of a joke really. I did my delivery ok and then went off to complete my absorbtion on this quite rough council estate. The first 2 roads went ok but on the 3rd i just came to the end of a row of houses but still had about 6 calls in letters left

. I walked around for ages looking for these houses but it was like a rabbit warren with alleyways and cut throughs everywhere.

After driving around for another 5 mins i gave up as i was up to my time.

I returned to the office intending to inform a manager of the non delivered mail but guess what ?

yep they were long gone

so i put the mail in the missort frame and went home

We had some more election leaflets "conservitive to deliver over 3 days , but today was my last day for a week

Shift week off so cleared up the leaflets. Put the payment sheet in,

My back sure needs the week rest though

Not looking forward to coming back to see what the numpty dom has decided he is trying to get away with.
