Are Management and Union Officers - HQ levels aware that we need instant reaction and decisions on this not emails/letters floating between each other. During an important vote how they handle this issue, to some degree, will have an impact on the outcome, .

BTW I am getting reports that some members have received their CD and Letter of recommendation and summary of the agreement - but no ballot paper. Whats my Next Step.

I think everyone is aware that it needs sorting , i have to say where people have refused to do it , management have paid it. However it needs Royal Mail to honour the agreement.

I have to say that I understand if people dont believe the relationship will change. I have been in lots of disputes and in my experience , there are some Royal Managers who dont want a union in the workplace or to give any benefits . They would be happier in the" hire and fire " management policy which is widespread in the states.

However what is the alternative ? Do we accept that we can never have another national agreement as we can never trust Royal Mail ? I dont think many of our members enjoyed what happened last year when Royal Mail were imposing change and we did not have an agreement.

However I do believe that Higson , Handon and Wall`s do want to improve relationships but the question is will they win the peace ?

814 local council polling cards at 4.2p £34.18
814 national election cards at 4.2p £34.18
450 labour addressed at 4.2p £18.19
450 addressed conservative at 4.2p £18.19
450 green party unadressed at 3.0p £13.50

So £118.24 to date and loads more partys to come, and last election we had the main partys twice

The actual words in the agreement are weak to say the least.
As dvb pointed out if RM want to they could use annual leave to artificially boost the number of saturdays off.
That might not be the spirit of the agreement but it would be in keeping with the words.
Without trust in my opinion this agreement is WORSE than no agreement as it opens up delivery spans and DTD without any real limitations on either.
If Royal Mail DO decide to play hardball they will now have just the agreement to roll right over the top of us.
IF the membership decide to accept it.

ok its wtl tmrrw and troops in my office want to know one thing
do we get paid for dsa poll cards or not
dom said not ,because its dsa and ayrshire do,s are not being paid for poll cards using this reason
what do i tell troops tmrrw because they will want an answer and they all will ask me
i personally feel they are breaking agreements with this stance
nb. all poll cards delivered and some have counted them but others not bothered mgmt told them not to it wouldn,t matter
so before we take any local action where do we stand on this

does any one know any more regarding payment for the polling cards, as we have still not been paid for them yet, or as usual will we be screwed over by management again.

this is fast becoming a joke even managers up and down the country must not have a clue whats to happen
or are they just lying to staff for savings ?

Ours were first class,and we got paid for them.

yes we were paid for 1st class items about 20 items for each delivery
the other 560 poll cards were dsa (prime post next day )
thought dsa was to be treated as 1st class anyway told we would not be paid for dsa items
are they at it do we get paid for dsa poll cards

Why shortly - are we still under an information curfew? It's either an agreement or not - what needs to be sorted - are we really going to be having the professional wafflers chatter and email forever and a day whilst the membership want to know if RM are going to honour this agreement and all the other elements of the proposed agreement. Is it important that the membership feel there is a real move to a new understanding and trust, well it's a long way off yet and as for dealing with the aftermath, that will be a daily thing up and down the country in DOs.
