The point of the conscience clause seems to keep getting missed in theses threads.
The clause was bought in because our colleagues were attacked,spat at abused ect for delivering them.
Who the hell are you to say that some of us are ignorant. Maybe you should select your words more carefully and stop shouting by using red text. We are all perfectly able to read !
Are you for real - (or have you just been on the ale)

anyone can be ignorant of anything its not a slur or an insult.

You are ignorant of my real identity but that does not mean you are stupid it means you don't know me.

POSTMAN pointed out that some posters are unaware (and therefore ignorant) of the H&S clause in the Conscience Clause for deliver Election Material:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&sa ... nt&spell=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Ignorance is the state in which one lacks knowledge, is unaware of something or chooses to subjectively ignore information. This should not be confused with being unintelligent, as one's level of intelligence and level of education or general awareness are not the same. ...

What's "ignorant" about having an opinion? {Or is it the arrogant "if only you understood, you'd agree with me" principle? :crazy: }

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Taking posts out of context again - I thought the 'ignorant' was not knowing and opposed to calling someone stupid :hmmmm but then you do seem to do that don't you :wink:

??? All you seem to do is take parts of other peoples posts and make comments about them, you NEVER add to discussions only snipe from the sidelines. TBH you would be better just not posting until you actually say something and that way you wouldn't annoy so many people.

Pot, kettle, black.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I don`t see what all the fuss is about, we are postman/women we deliver mail and other items.
These election material are from parties in the election , as long as the material is legal , what`s the problem.
People can make up their own minds on who to vote for, whether, Tory, labour or BNP or whoever.

Makes no difference to me , I am just the Postman

Grinder64 wrote:According to our WTL session today there is no longer a 'conscience clause' for operatives regarding the handling & distribution of election material for the likes of the BNP. Did the CWU endorse this? As someone with deeply held anti-fascist values obviously I am loathe to even give this kind of propaganda the time of day; in previous elections I have just thrown it all in the surplus pile as generally all of their stuff comes through unaddressed. Anyone got any pointers in case my DOM starts giving me heat?
Just do what your paid to do and deliver them.
