I thought it was going to be light today but course it were'nt its Saturday  I still reckon we will get hammered next week, there must be massive packet backlogs especially from the Channel Islands, all those plants will be dead before they get to us.

They probably use boat / ferry to overcome this.

I wonder what Royal Mail do with the staff who are stuck in Europe, ie stuck in Italy for example. Would they expect us to catch a long slow train to get back asap.

We have one due back from the Far East at the end of next week - he may struggle I think.

How will large bulk commercial deliveries from far eastern countries (such as China) be affected?

Do we have an update on this yet please?

Are you waiting on your I-clone :chuckle or other dubious Chinese knock-offs :nervous

Seriously though, all flights are not allowed into or out of UK airspace so the only way they can get the items in are to fly them to a country that isin't affected and then overland to the UK. Anything coming in bulk should be OK because they travel by sea and that is unaffected.................at the minute (unless it gets hi-jacked off the coast of Somalia).

Thanks for your reply!

That was a very astute... and actually perfectly correct, assumption! :angel

Although mine (of course!) is a 'genuine' clone, being supplied directly from the manufacturer's major distributors! :Very Happy

From a purely 'social' aspect, I was also womdering about companies, such as Dell, who manufacture their laptops in China, and then ship them (presumably on an almost daily basis) to the UK, for onward distribution.

I would assume that all those big companies just ship all their products by sea. I think one of the more important things is what's going to happen to the price of all that exotic fruit that I like. :nervous my star fruit and kumquats are really important to me

Won't they be going a bit soft after spending 3 weeks stuck in the hold of a slow boat to (or in this case from!) China?
