Yes indeedy, fortunately it is only pro rata so you are saving even more on tax.BELIAL wrote:fishtank wrote:£400 lump sum (previously final ColleagueShares dividend) paid to all employees upon ratification of agreementdingo wrote:Royal Mail had not issued the last share and the union was able to move this up front in the way of a lump sum for revision activity with the main bulk when you do a walk sequencing revision , some will get that this year and some next year.
ColleagueShares buy back 1 currently valued at £536 per employee.
ColleagueShares buy back 2 currently valued at £536 per employee.
Additional Transformation Lump Sums totalling £1000 for employees covered by this agreement (pro rata for part time employees).
If i'm reading this right none of the lump sums are new money it was all ours to start with,genius.![]()
You fail to mention that through skillful negotiation our representatives have managed to capture a reduction of £3,300 on the original dividend proposed . This tactical triumph will save our members a small fortune in income tax payments

Re: Question for London posties
Belial, the scheme had a MAXIMUM total payout of £5300. But the end-value was not guaranteed, it was dependent on a lot of factors, mostly to do with the financial performance of the company. There is / was never any certainty of any end-value of the scheme's so-called shares. It's a tad unfair to say we've 'lost' money that many of us thought we'd never see anyway, from these "phantom shares"BELIAL wrote:You fail to mention that through skillful negotiation our representatives have managed to capture a reduction of £3,300 on the original dividend proposed

Yes, you're right, maybe we were suffering from a leap of faith in the company honouring the original agreement to pay us the value of the shares - strange thing this leap of faith business init?headscrewedon wrote:Belial, the scheme had a MAXIMUM total payout of £5300. Was also told at the same meeting by the same divisional rep & area rep these lump sums (2010 agreement) are not our college share money, would like clarification on this as it's not how i understand it.
So in a nutshell £1000 is new money and will be paid to each office on rollout which could be anytime between now and 2012 - so plenty of time for RM to save up from the profits from D2D eh!
That £1000 replaces our final allocation of phantom shares, which may or may not have been worth £1000 in 2011/12.
The £1000 for revisions IS new money but of course it is pro rata
It says in the agreement that the £1000 replaces our final allocation of shares.
This is not the buyback or the dividend, but more shares that were supposed to be given to us. Check your original documentation - it says we should have had 3 lots.
So had our third allocation been worth £1000 at buyback time, then there is absolutely no new money in the lump sums we receive through this agreement!

The D2D pot itself,(in terms of Royal Mail),since 1999 has been dwindling it has to be said. As stated in a previous post,I know for a fact that they were going to switch the D2D off,(amongst many other things!).
If I was in a negotiating position, and that pot was getting smaller and smaller per year.Should we wait? Or should we grab it now?
As stated, this is not spin.I have done my own homework myself from about 3 years ago.I have family in London,Bristol,as posties and MC workers.Plus there are some members who we all PM from time to time. The disparity on D2D throughout the country is quite amazing.
Try it sometime............
Im with you 100% on the DTD, however I belive the mistake of HQ was not putting enough of the 6.9% in year 1 to counteract any losses from the new supplement replacing DTD & ESA.
I have now had 3 weeks of only two sets of DTD.

Im glad if London do regular D2D because theres more chance of a NO vote,as union folklore says if London vote No then its a No.

Re: Question for London posties
I've just had three weeks at only two sets a week and next week I've only got one set. Im not the only duty with only one set, but other duties have the full three sets.
There is a certain amount of variance between duties at my D.O and my delivery does seem to be less in favour than others with the companies that send DTD.

Just like to say another argument this divisional rep put to me, according to him the pension deficit is not because RM took a 13 year holiday from paying.

I posted a story in Pensions http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 27&t=26243" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which explains one of the reasons for the deficit. I think you Div Rep is partly correct - RMs pensions holiday was a contributing factor and a major one, but its not the only reasonFunked! wrote:Just like to say another argument this divisional rep put to me, according to him the pension deficit is not because RM took a 13 year holiday from paying.

That is a good article TBT. Although i still believe the holiday is the major factor.
