No we still get that and the current value is 536 which will be paid in 2011 and the same in 2012 if the market share holds.Member 34 wrote:Not quite new money dvbuk....dvbuk55 wrote:Funked! wrote:I was told at a unit meeting by a divisional rep that 75% of London DON'T do door to door (i find this hard to believe) ?
Was also told at the same meeting by the same divisional rep & area rep these lump sums (2010 agreement) are not our college share money, would like clarification on this as it's not how i understand it.
So in a nutshell £1000 is new money and will be paid to each office on rollout which could be anytime between now and 2012 - so plenty of time for RM to save up from the profits from D2D eh!
That £1000 replaces our final allocation of phantom shares, which may or may not have been worth £1000 in 2011/12.
The £1000 for revisions IS new money but of course it is pro rata

Re: Question for London posties
The truth is that some London offices have had in the past very poor quality and do not delivery either any or just the odd one here and there. In some offices some are done by door to door barons. Others are done by people who want to earn extra money and are rest day covers who do a number of them as the duty holder does not want to do them.
Eqaully there are some units like wimbledon and Streatham where they cannot do the live mail let alone the unaddressed ones.
Plus the central London offices like W1 or EC , SW1 have whole sections who dont get any as many are purely firms deliveries.
However there are some offices who do 2 or 3 items on a regular basis and the figures do prove this.
I have posted the figures before but in London there are 6200 on deliveries including night workers , indoor duties , rest day covers , reserves and firm drivers. The list shows that there are 3100 actual walks in London ( excluding North West London who come under the Thames Valley Regional management directors.) and during the 6 week period only 2100 claimed money.
I have also the details for the whole Thames valley region in terms of payments and it is revealing.
Plus for the record I can confirm that management want to put very strict measures on the growth of the door to door product and that means that it will not be unlimited door to door as they know that the worse thing was to attempt to capture more of the market to quickly and fail to deliver the quality the customer wants.
I can also confirm that as soon as Royal Mail have captured 6 door to door market then they will have the business case for automating door to door in a single seleve.
For the record Dvbuk Royal Mail did not put the colleague share certificate out on the last payment which allowed the union to move that into the agreement. They could not do that on any of other colleague share money as there were legal implications as the company had written out. However the union was able to ensure that new employees who were not entitled to colleague would get paid it.

What does that mean exactly dingo according to the reward schedule there should be a buy back payment in 2011 worth £536 and is it two in 2012 of £536 meaning it will be £1072 - £1608 in total or is that not now being paid - or is any of it being paid? If new employees weren't entitled to it why are they being paid it? Has someone from a benefits department worked this out?

Re: Question for London posties
Dvbuk colleague share was a phoney share scheme. Which the government and leighton set up to ensure that there was never enough money for collective bargining on pay rises etc as all the money was steered into colleague share.
Colleague share started off at £5800 and has halved since then. The outstanding payments which had been issued meant their were legal implications and the union could not alter these payments. Of course if Royal Mail"s business plan succeds then they may grow. Royal Mail had not issued the last share and the union was able to move this up front in the way of a lump sum for revision activity with the main bulk when you do a walk sequencing revision , some will get that this year and some next year.
You never really had a share in Royal Mail it was a ploy as only the Government owns shares in Royal Mail.
Now why would you oppose anyone who joined the industry after the colleague share certifcates being issued ? Surely it is a good thing that they now recieve this money.

I don't know about your office but nearly everyone in mine works to their time on both days (and each of the other days I struggle to finish on time).Plus they are now up "s**t street" without a paddle at the moment because,(and lets be honest our Mondays and Tuesdays are embarrasingly light),

That's a little too complex for me dingo - are we getting any payments as per the reward matrix of £536 in 2011 and £1072 in 2012 - regardless of whether the shares are phoney is the money phoney?dingo wrote:Dvbuk colleague share was a phoney share scheme. Re: Question for London posties
ColleagueShares was a name invented by Leighton's people to deliberately imply that there would be some share ownership, when in fact the whole scheme is nothing but a glorified profit-sharing scheme with a deliberately-misleading name.
We were due to get a further 'dividend' (distribution of profit) of £400 in June, but these monies are now being paid on ratification of the agreement. So no new money, just bringing the payment forward in a vain attempt to sweeten the deal
We were due to get the option to 'sell' some of our 'shares' in 2011 (translation: cash in some of our profit-sharing units), and 'sell' the remainder in 2012, when the value of the profit-sharing units may have been higher or lower than they were in 2011.
Under this 2010 & Beyond deal, however, they are now saying that because our 'shares' (profit-sharing units) were valued at £1072 at the last valuation, they will instead pay us two equal sums of £536; one of them in 2011, and one of them in 2012.
2 x £536 = £1072 in total
Simples!

I think we need to look at why reps sometimes fail. These people are volunteers and give up a lot of their own time to try to help. The problem is that they are let down by the professional union officials. They get very poor training and the IR framework means they have no power and have to pass disputes upwards to the 'bought men'.drb wrote:We need to really look at what has happened in the past, learn from it,and stop what ever crap they bring in in which is un-agreed. Plus ALWAYS get membership ratification. If your rep ain't up to it.Ballot Box,and get someone who is up to it.
Branches decide who will be put forward to the gravy train jobs so it is very difficult to dislodge these people. The volunteers reps and members are being let down by the professional union officials.
We need a parallel unofficial union that volunteer reps can turn to if they are getting the run-around. Eventually the unofficial volunteers will replace the current lot.

Re: Question for London posties
People talk of this money as if we were guaranteed to receive it. We weren't. The end-value of these 'bogus shares' when the ColleagueShare scheme finished (in 2012) would have been governed byfishtank wrote:

No of 'shares' x 'share' price at last valuation date.
I remember many people on here being cynical about these 'phantom shares', saying they would end up worthless because RM would doubtless do some cooking the books and declare a huge loss in 2012, say that the share price had fallen, and thus the value payable to each employee under the scheme "was, sadly, a lot less than we had planned".
Well to get £1072 out of a scheme that could have been manipulated to give us a lot less is about the only part of this agreement where the CWU has got one over on RM, rather than the other way around.
The rest of the agreement, however, is gane set and match to RM if it gets voted in
