I dont want part of my break put on the end,I need the full 40 mins in the middle of the day where its supposed to be.Its the same mentality as those that leave all there break at the end of the duty, they end up tearing it up and taking shortcuts just to enable them to fit in the 40 mins they are owed. Its called a break cos its the break in the day your body and mind needs away from the job.
Last letter will be 3 0'clock,15mins back to the office,10 mins pouching off etc = half three finish.
I voted no but I'm pretty confident it'll get in,then I stop my subs.
Been union through and through for 20 plus years, but this is a terrible deal but its the deal we deserve because too few of us did the job properly to protect our working conditions.Every one moans at the union for not doing enough, but they warned us two years ago unless we start doing the job properly we're f****d,hardly anyone took any notice and look where we all are now.
The feeling behind my post is'nt a rant ,more sad disillusionment with the majority of the people I've worked with over the last couple of decades.

I have to say respecfully of course that this is exactly what has got us into this mess in the first place. :nervous
We MUST in my opinion get our heads around working our full hours right up until our finishing time including having our full meal relief at a properly scheduled time.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Fair point,at the moment we do,when we go to a 4 day week,we have 30mins at the end,it's an office thing and my lot don't mind.
On a 5 day week it is better to have it all in one go because of the office specs, but we will still be working our hrs regardles of where we put the break.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
