It's a British thing, mucker. Skeleton staff is the name of the game these days, fewer people doing more work than the average Egyptian slave working on the Pyramids in the olden days, that's what it's all about.
Go to any bank, any post office, any supermarket, any hospital, any police station, any fire station, and the one thing front-line staff will all agree on is, the urgent need for more staff.
But while lazy, greedy, immoral bosses have one member of staff doing enough work for two, this will go on, and on, and on. :evil/mad

Not only has B+H been ignored it's being made more accessable for DOMs

NEW WORK TOOLS 2010

Sack 'difficult' worker for not meeting 10% rule - totally inlign with Agreement.
Grind 'difficult' workers into submission by giving them complete 8/6hr shifts of delivery work day after day - totally allowable.
Refuse shift flexibility and 1 in 4 Sats off to 'difficult' workers/offices - allowable.

The Agreement is a tyrants charter for a management with a widespread and substantial track record of tyranical behaviour.

What happened whilst the 2007 Pay and Mod ran through its 2 year span - well not a lot except over 500 offices opted to apply for a strike ballot and why was that?
The CWU turned its back on the membership and left everything to "local negotiation" whilst they sat on their hands for two years - and what will happen over the next three years - more of the same except they are now under the sheets with RM.

Re-writing history again , the reason why those strike ballot were requested is that Royal Mail had walked away from the joint working parties and said that they did not need any new national agreements and that they ceased 50 /50 and were no longer going to pay for change in the future.

The PEC adopted a policy of no saviings and every Branch was told at the National briefing in January 2009 . That was the tactic which was agreed so that it would put pressure on Royal Mail to enter into negotations. Of course some Branch"s broke that policy and agreed savings. But most did not and Royal Mail then entered into a period of executive action and some offices then support stirke action.

This forced Royal Mail into talks and then the national ballot took place and the interim agreement was reached and now we have the new agreement. Now if you look back at the newsnight leaked document then you will see that we dramatically changed and defeat Royal Mail"s plans

That's rewriting history dingo - the national ballot came before the talks - not the other way round - you may like to think that RM were concerned about local strikes but that didn't bring them to the table - as much as you'd like to think so.

Now for the PEC and the NO SAVINGS in January 2009 - are you seriously trying to say that things hadn't already gone pear shaped before then! That HQ wasn't aware that offices weren't experiencing difficulties before that? Get real!

This deal is strictly for the CWU for another 3 years of the same, nothing more nothing less. They will be seen for what they are and time will tell.

At that time we did not entertain them with savings at all.Boy! Did we get a kicking in in terms of them taking the p****.They were pushing us all over the place last year.We had to bite our tongues so as to not invalidate the other ballots around the country.

I must say...we were very close.............
