Another "incident" yesterday...
Accused of package misdelivery. Wasn't me, must have been parcels driver etc.
When I asked to see the NA card the "disgruntled" customer brought in, amazingly it couldn't be found, "Surprise, Surprise" as Cilla used to say.
No apology, no "I'm sorry, I was wrong"... nothing...
Then, when someone said something constructive on another matter, the DOM's reply was, "That's the rouble with this place. Everyones got something to say.."
Yeah, we do, coz we know the REAL job, in the REAL World, on the "coal face".
And we aren't robots, automotons or androids.
You CAN'T make this stuff up, honestly.

Re: RM Communication...Where?
One guy I know who became a manager used to just wander around the office with a pen in his hand when he was in the RLE. He was obviously the perfect candidate for promotion because of it!Thunderthighs wrote:And I imagine that most Managers will think that Joan of Ark was Noah's wife, lol!
But, put simply, knowing the job of a Postie DOESN'T qualify you to become a DOM/Supervisor/Manager...
This needs training, assessments, learning, practice and close supervision etc.
Written test, verbal tests, assessments and academic experience are all required, as well as experiential learning from doing the "job" in the past.
This takes time, money, effort and commitment from all parties concerned.
There doesn't appear to be this aspect of a Professional organisation within RM...well, not in our office anyway.
And possibly elsewhwere too, reading the vast majority of posts on here!
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

And I bet the pen was Red, to mark things and say, "Could do better, see me after class.."
