well i think someone needs to start informing these doms because we had a little meeting this morning where we were told that the office revision due july/august will determine what shift pattern our whole office is on. many of us protested and his answer was simple. operationally its too difficult to manage the DO with everybody on different shift patterns like it is now and he was pretty adamant what he says goes. we would have called the area rep in but last time we did he agreed to merging sa's with our walks even tho there was a no savings ban on so we thought better of it.
i know he's talking rubbish as did many others at the meeting but that's not really the point is it. we're being told one thing by one group and something totally different by the other so just who is right?

Oh and vote your area rep out.
Seriously though,wait for the formulas to be released,your rep will be going to loads of branch meetings soon,it will all come out then.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. I sometimes wonder if some Managers have read the proposal and the RM management material promoting the deal and realised that if its accepted then their future workload, managerial responsibilities, leadership skills, planning abilities and communication requirements will all increase or be more deeply scrutinised. Could it be thats the reason why some are appearing to undermine the deal.
It would be disquieting to say the least that Managers and No voters are trying for the same results but for Polar opposite reasons.

Managers don't like us getting theses shift patters,In London when we were getting our 4 day weeks they were wetting themselves with excitement as they thought they would get the same. They were soon brought back down to earth

i had not thought of it like that but now that you mention it i think you could be onto something. tbh i put it down to them just being them if you know what i mean. im sure that is definitely gonna be the case with some of them. i know a few that will have to give up football etc on a sat if the proposal is agreed and its rare atm that the dom is still in the office when i get back . guessing that will have to stop to.
