It is time to explain to them that it is no longer absorption, summer efficiency, winter efficiency or anything other than IT IS NOW PART OF YOUR DUTY. What began in our office as Summer efficiency for 10 weeks became 12, 14, 52 weeks of the year and is carried out each Monday and Tuesday regardless of workload and regardless of FT or PT status - in truth once the revision takes place then that should be "absorbed" for want of a better word into the new enlarged duties. Why is it carried out?, because they can and do complete it.Big Daz wrote:I have members who belive they havea god given right to start early finish early and if anything gets in the way of that and the CWU dont remove the obstacle then I as the local rep is evil, selling the mbrs down the missipi etc etc
They hate absorption with a vengance but continue to complete their duty their absoption and still go home early.
That against a back drop of utlise all paid work hours, which the DOM is going to have to roll out sooner or later and take some flak and upset people.

Re: RM getting rid of D2D's
A lot more regular now due to enough sick leave to trigger the absorption.
No sick leave, no absorption.
Varies from week to week
This week two duties absorbed Monday to Friday and 11 people working their day off
Next week one duty absorbed Monday to Friday and nobody due in to work their day off.
No sick leave, no absorption.

No dreaming, just reality of staffing levels when there is no sick leave. Thats how things stand at the moment and yes I would be very surprised if the DOM dosent try for more absorption.
