As predicted we got hit with mailsort flats today

21883 steps which included absorbtion. Finished 5 mins over but was nice and sunny and quite warm towards the end

Bloody hell I would have lost count!

I like to use my fingers but I can only seem to get to 10 (might be better if I was from the country and then i could use all 14 of my fingers ).

In on time, straight out with lapsing, back to find frame still not fully prepped again. First i was told that we p/t were going to come in to a fully prepped, bundled and bagged walk, then the 'bagged' bit was quickly forgotten about, now the 'bundled' bit has gone out of the window and it seems the 'prepped' remainder is discretionary too. Seemingly the only bit that is concrete is me lapsing everyday.

Have they in fact extended part-timers delivery periods? Is this not discriminatory?

So im out the door and sort out a prob with missing keys again, get to the 1st pick up and the bags arent there. Phone up 'He left 2-3 mins ago' (lies! he was just coming into the office at that moment) Eventually get my bags dropped off, make a big dent in my d2d and finish on time.

How to pedometer work, where do you wear them ?

They can be found on watches, clipped to your belt or even on your iphone/android phone. Some use GPS and some use a pendulum or swing-arm system. GPS is normally reserved for speed and distance traveled rather than steps though I believe.

Just found the pedometer on my new phone - used it today and I came out with
Time : 4:53.02
Distance (m) : 111475.0
Speed (km/h) : 4.3
Steps : 19110

I only started it at my first DP and finished it at my final DP (and paused it during my break) so that doesn't include the walking around the office in the morning.

How to pedometer work, where do you wear them ?

The cheap ones (sometimes free in cereal packets) simply use a ball bearing which rolls back and forth when you take a step. There ok but can be inaccurate. The more expensive pedometers use a shock sensor to pick up the step which is software controlled and provides better accuracy.

What you do to set one up is walk ten normal steps and measure your stride for each step, then divide by ten to get an average. You enter this into the pedometer and from this it works out you distance in steps, khm, or miles etc.

Most have a built in memory for say a week to compare days. The Omron walking style pro HJ-720 which i have has a forty day built in memory and allows you to download the data and display in the form of charts to compare days, weeks etc.

You can wear a shock sensor pedometer anywhere on your person. Mine comes with a belt clip or you simply put it in a pocket and it still works fine.

Some modern phones have aps which turns them into pedometers but I think they use gps for that.

I normally leave the office around 8.45am and return 13.40pm which is just under 5 hours.

Horrendous. Hardly anybody on the IPS. 4 boxes of walk sequenced mail. (2 of which didn't arrive on my frame until 8.10) Thats 20 minutes before our breeak time starts. Came down off my break to find only 2 people doing the missorts, so I joined them. Mail wise, loads on, but not many packets. We are short staffed in our office and are having to resort to drafting in bods from other offices.
