They don't at my office and AFAIK never have. If a rep gets first pick or a specific duty because of his position then they are surely open to the claim of "Conflict of Interests". A rep should ignore the benefits/drawbacks to themselves of any changes or discussions and focus on how they affect their membership. Only during a secret ballot should a rep take into consideration their own views and the affects of the vote/agreement on themselves.OnAFlyer wrote:Wrong. The insurance for private cars was extended to carrying and storing mail in them on the delivery some time ago. Besides which, why on earth would anyone want to use their car when you'll have a van? Back on topic, the reps will probably get first pick of duties regardless of seniority, same as they do now.

I am a rep. I work on a Saturday. I don't get the pick of the duties.
If your reps abuse their position you should get rid of them.

Round up the usual suspects.

Onaflyer seen a few repicks over the years and all went by dda then seniority no preferencial treatment for reps.
But it is quite obvious reading this forum that there is no national agreements completely adhered to.

Are people happy to let their rep abuse his/her position?

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Will the Union Reps be working Saturday?
I work Saturdays and ive allways taken my place in the repick before and during being the rep. The last time I had Saturdays off was early 2002 and that was 1 in 4 sats off and the duty was part of a 4 duty group.
Reps have a 5 day week as well, so there will allways be a day when the rep isnt on site.

Look, some area reps dont work Sat's but most local reps do!
I don't know where people get this idea we get special treatment
I have always had b-----d rounds and always work Sat's(1 off in six)
We cant pick good rounds in revisions because there would be hell-up!
If this deal goes through I will have to take my place in the queue like everyone else!

Always be one step ahead, play their game but be wiser. Revenge is sweet.
