friend of a friend asked me this question,if his day of falls on a bank holiday monday,is he entiled to claim excess hours on the tuesday he returns to work.or is he only able to claim a day's leave for the monday?????? one for lovejoy

Mucker are you asking if your friend can claim 8 hours overtime (or whatever the duty span is on a mon) for his day off.

I will be very surprised if he/she could but would be interested in a definitive answer.

if the day off is the mon you will claim a bank holiday credit, and any overtime you do rest of week is claimed as normal.

We get the choice 8 hours docket(which i took)or a day off on next years leave.
Should be the same for everyone.

im glad you said that,our rep and the Dim, told him he can only claim a day off in next years leave............if anyone from HQ reads this can you PM or post on here,the facts then i can tell my my mates mate.............yet another example of local mangement doing as they please

Surely if you're day off is on Monday, then you are entitled to another day off for it. Not on next years holidays, but this years. That's the way it works for me as my day off is Monday almost every week.
