This will be confirmed at the front of the new revisions process in the local workshop for DOMs and local representatives. The plan for rolling out the fresh approach to revisions is being discussed by our teams and will be confirmed soon.
What happens in a small DO with no local Rep?
What usually happens RL is that managers will run roughshod over any national or local agreements, will bully and intimidate, will have their favorites, will have people they don’t like and undermine and mistreat them, and that is the time RL that you or hopefully someone else will stand up and be counted and turn the tide in your office.
PS the thing to remember to all the CWU detractors out there is this, the majority of CWU officials are volunteers who are elected every year and INHO are the backbone and lifeblood of the union.

Good point jessie carabbit the EP in my office has changed between 50 - 75 in 3 months, thats why its important that the CWU has input and agreement on the traffic figures.

Ever year RM have a business savings plan, the local rep is involved to make their local office more efficient and productive it is always driven by RM's budget. This is the first time were an office revision will not be driven by a set % of savings.
My worry is Hooty if the duties produced by this office revision are......significantly more costly than those at present will RM not simply try to claw back as much of this overspend as possible after said "non-budget driven" revision.
After all the business is allegedly finacially crippled is it not?
I would guess that in all offices were RM took EA that they are getting no savings whatsoever and in some offices they will be overspending,I think RM understand that to be efficiant and make savings they have to have the will of its people to achieve it.
I would absolutely agree with that statement and I would have thought that was our position of strength on which to negotiate UNLESS there was another agenda.
Whether we like it or not dvbuk the negotiations are finished. The agreement will be up for the vote tomorrow. The will of the members will have the final say. And I will accept the majority verdict whereby I like it or not.

I agree with that, in two weeks time we will be hours away from finding out the will of the membership and I its different from the way I choose to vote then so be it.

If its a no vote I will do my part as local rep in feeding back opinions from the membership as to why a no vote.

I have always remembered that revisions were set to a budget. This one is not.I also showed a similar letter to the DOM and DSM(A similar letter was also from Mr Haddon) . They backed off,.In fact...they apologised!
(Found that REALLY weird..this was in February by the way...not on the eve of the ballot).

are likely to be put back into an office, this deal is

I would be interested to know if any rep on here is
selling the deal on this basis or wether they think
hours will be going into their office, more F/T jobs
more SAT offs, realistic performance measures
(undefined) how could I resist?
Stevie in offices were they are hitting RM target EP figures, with the Door to Door into workload there will be no other options but to invest in these offices.
If its a yes vote, i really & sincerely hope you are right

I was given my plans for this budget/savings about 6 weeks ago. A reduction of 12 walks. Filed it away for safe keeping due to the talks. In discussions with the Dom this week about getting the revision put right following last years EA. He threw into the conversation that the plans for this year would just be re issued i.e. based on budget . The National Agreement might be saying one thing but RM already have there own view. Can see now this is gonna be one very long hot summer.

Exactly - The letter between WARDY & HIGSON, great, apart from the fact hours spent are what drives budgets not duty structures. Higson knows
this, Ward Dosen't thats why Higson is quiet happy to say DOM's budgets will not drive duty structures & is happy to tell DOM's that, BUT - the hours
are the hours & how you spend them is up to you. :Very Happy :Very Happy

Housing growth at my D.O area will need at least 100 hours allocated to it.

To get that covered with current resource and make savings of the type to meet budget targets is fantasy.

My instructions are to not to agree to any savings this side of the agreement and take note of everyhting the DOM says and send the minutes off to the Sub ADR. In the main my DOM will be looking at redployment of staff following more absorption.

The staffing levels will remain the same and the wage bill will remain the same for my D.O.

Almost!!!

Two new estates

One is 1200 DP other is around 600 DP

The 100 hours is based on what is needed once every DP is buit and occupied.

There should not be any discussions on office budgets as the workshops,(geo route) haven't been done yet with ACAS involvement. The BSi is without stress, fatigue, and you have to be motivated.Royal Mail's BSi is based on budget.

The parameters for the geo route need agreeing. All they did for geo route 2008 is change it slightly, but it was the same thing. It would be best served for reps not to get involved at this point.
