Indeed, but with the same cynicism as CWU HQ I should think. This site once had CWU logos all over it. Wonder why they disappeared soon after and a hastily written footnote that the site was not affiliated with the CWU?POSTMAN wrote:You read em allNight Tonic wrote:Every thread on here seems to be the same one, rephrased with the usual bods hoping that if they say NO enough, it might rub off. what someone says to their colleagues can be very different to what they say in the home with their partner as they cross the box.
Plus the comms from the union with the ballot paper are vital as its the last thing you see before voting
It's not really surprising no-one will admit to voting for those two agreements.
After all no-one apparently voted for Thatcher either.
Voting for something and believing in something are unfortunately often two different things.
I do not believe in this agreement Lovejoy........do you?

Well what is another moot point lovejoy is the fact the someone has taken a decision to lump a second vote on the same ballot - now what a clever little marketing trick that is - some must think we came in on the last banana boat - the MTSF agreement is aimed strictly at the MC staff and will have little bearing on the DO staff - so just a gentle nudge to the MC staff to:lovejoy wrote:I have still to find anyone who admits to voting yes in the way forward or pay and mod....... somebody must have.opgpat wrote:You can say that but I've asked loads of people in our DO and not one has said they will vote Yes. a. Vote at all
b. Vote for the MTSF agreement because it affects them
c. Vote Yes
Very base and just another indicator that the CWU are desperate to get this in at any cost - but deliveries know what price they are going to have to pay.
And what the branch recommend is likely to be very different to what the delivery staff vote.

The MTSF won't affect delivery staff??? What about VRs?dvbuk55 wrote:Well what is another moot point lovejoy is the fact the someone has taken a decision to lump a second vote on the same ballot - now what a clever little marketing trick that is - some must think we came in on the last banana boat - the MTSF agreement is aimed strictly at the MC staff and will have little bearing on the DO staff - so just a gentle nudge to the MC staff to:lovejoy wrote:I have still to find anyone who admits to voting yes in the way forward or pay and mod....... somebody must have.opgpat wrote:You can say that but I've asked loads of people in our DO and not one has said they will vote Yes. The reason for the 2 votes has been covered off on another thread.
On your last point about delivery staff not supporting their branches recommendation.......... the ballot result will be the true reflection of that.

Lunch lovejoy? You don't seriously think we workers have time for lunch - we're lucky to get a break at all - it's usually spent throwing D2Ds off and working unpaid overtime - wow lunch - I didn't realise you were so far up the ladder lj.lovejoy wrote:So you could then post again later about me avoiding questions.fishtank wrote:It was a simple question Lovejoy and did not warrant the insults.lovejoy wrote:fishtank you have a really worrying obsession with what I think on every single issue.fishtank wrote:

Must be a real talent to throw off d2ds, work unpaid overtime and be able to post on here at the same time Dvbukdvbuk55 wrote:Lunch lovejoy? Must be about the same measure of talent that you use when you describe the effects of the agreement on the workplace. I don't actually deliver, or do D2D, or do unpaid overtime but I know plenty who do and take on board what their situation is GOING to be, so I would think I am one less removed from the workplace than you are. Lets just call it "poetic licence" a little like this agreement and those who would sell their soul to get this agreement through.lovejoy wrote:Must be a real talent to throw off d2ds, work unpaid overtime and be able to post on here at the same time Dvbuk

You really are a hero Dvbuk aren't you - Its a pity you've never had to represent anyone or make a decision upon which thousands of members future depend.dvbuk55 wrote:Must be about the same measure of talent that you use when you describe the effects of the agreement on the workplace. You see it is so easy to live in your world of 'thats not good enough' or 'i would never have agreed to that' - no you wouldnt have because you haven't got the guts to put your money where you mouth is......and dont give it the too old routine again.
So lets look at your last post.
You know people who prep d2d in their own time.......... yes that because thats what they should be doing now. This agreement ceases that.
You know people who perform unpaid overtime. Well (a) why arent they standing up for themselves and (b) what is the local rep doing about it? Not everything can be laid at the feet of cwu hq.
I don't do this myself, I dont do that myself but I feel for other people...........and you have the cheek to attack the likes of dingo and myself claiming that we don't perform delivery work.

We have had this argument on here many times and it astounds me that a senior rep has repeated what management says. Even RM official (unagreed I grant) say it should be done in work time.
Though you are right that the new agreement clears up that issue completely.

Tut tut lovejoy don't spit the dummy out! You and dingo have no special gifts that probably 90% of the workforce don't have. You don't work plain and simple. Why are you voted into the positions you are in? Well to begin with by the good offices of the ordinary members and because others won't stand. That does not make you the best man for the job merely the only one to be on the ballot paper as for most union positions. You know what they say about self praise being no recommendation...................
I apologise for having the temerity to criticise you and dingo but they aren't attacks lovejoy just justifiable criticism of self servers.

It may clear up the issue but it will unfotunately not stop the practice in fact faced with more D2D i can only see the situation getting worse.
Members are only human after all and under pressure they will take the path of least resistance.

Re: Vote Yes and take the money
I will probably get slated for this, but here go's............
I am voting Yes. Simply because i want a job to go to in the next few years. Its not about money, but at my age, i have very little option when it comes to the job front. I don't care if i have to deliver extra d2d's. I don't care about working my time. Its what i am paid to do. I realise this agreement is not suitable for everyone. I think there are a few points that will perhaps have to change over the coming months/years. BUT, unless something is done, and something different started, it will just collapse and die. Everything needs change. Why not now? If we all pull together, this company will be something that our country will be proud of. Plus, i am proud to be a postman. It keeps me fit, healthy, and i serve my community. Its got to be better than flipping burgers all day......isn't it???
