Shocked or not! Have just heard that the Glasgow & District Amal Branch are advocating a YES vote to their branch members with the knowledge that it was by no means unanimous in reaching their branch recommendation. Can any other brother or sister from this branch confirm?

West London Postal , London South West , South East London Postal and Counters , East London . London Parcels and Transport amal are supporting the agreement. other branch`s in London expected to do the same.

Not strictly factually correct bro, as the CWU Area Delivery Rep DG/KA was I believe at an appeal case that morning doing what he does best representing his branch members, and the branch were fully aware of that fact, further the ADR for DG/KA had the common decency to make the branch aware that he would be unable to attend the meeting scheduled for that morning until about 1100hrs due to his ongoing representation, by the time he got there (meeting commenced 1000-1030hrs) it was all done and dusted. But you are correct to say he was against, as is his right and furthermore he forwarded a copy of his reasons directly to the branch headquarters.

As a member of Glasgow and District not shocked at all suppoting the agreement, some very incompetant Branch officials amongst this lot and there is a lot of members under this area Ayrshire in particular who will ignore that recomendation. Area Rep KA/DG deserves credit for his honest assessment of the proposed agreement and his rejection in its current form.It would be nice for others to get a backbone.

BBR, I would certainly agree with your summation in that the Area Delivery Rep for DG/KA does indeed deserve credit for his honest assessment of the proposed Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond agreement and his rejection in its current form after having given the branch his stated reasons.

Lemuel, I never thought that you were having a pop and yes you have already stated that you knew he wasn't there, but did you know at the time the circumstances of why he was unable to attend, probably not. Tis only a pity that the branch meeting and discussion of any branch recommendation was held without his input, regardless of the fact that the branch decision may have had the same outcome. What harm if any would there have been in delaying the meeting for half an hour/hour so he could have attended.

North Wales and the Marches recommend a Yes vote, a decision taken by the Royal Mail Committee without any input from the delivery reps or members. In fact the branch don't even have any plans for a branch meeting before the ballot closes.

i do not know what size office any of you work in but the feeling in my area which is made of 15-25 posties in each office is that big office screw the small office every time we do not not get o/t we work full shifts when we have been on courses in the big office we are amazed of the number of people walking around doing nothing that's managers and posties during the strike one of the area garage managers did a round in a big city in under 3 hours using a street map though he broke the strike he has always been one of the good guys towards use posties in the van side of things in my office the vote at the moment is around 55/45 against the argeemant

Embarrassed to report, Cheshire No1 branch recommending a Yes vote.

Although the notice acknowledges that the decision was not taken lightly and that the agreement "does not go far enough in some areas".

As with other branches, no real consultation with the members and no meeting.
