Re: D2D
Now let me see if I have got this right.... In areas where the delivery of D2Ds has been so bad that they have lost all the contracts for those deliveries the postmen will be rewarded with a weekly payment of £20.60 and presumably will still not get any D2Ds to deliver, whereas in areas where postmen have been conscientiously delivering their D2Ds they will be penalised by getting even more to deliver for less money than they currently get.

RM intend to drive up quality, so they will not be rewarded for doing nothing.

Re: D2D
I've read posts on here saying that even when the cap is lifted, we won't be delivering unlimited amounts of d2d, as there are something like a max of 9 national contracts (I'm sure that was the figure quoted by one of the Yes fanatics). The word I'd like to highlight is 'national'. How many d2d's that we deliver now, you know, the 2.1 per week, are national and how many are local? On my walk, over a 4 week period, assuming I only have 2 per week, or 8 d2d's per month, half are specific to my area. Bob's Pizza shop, Dave's Fencing Supplies, that type of thing, the rest are national.
So if RM actually win these national d2d contracts (unlikely, as they haven't shown any interest in winning back DSA mail) we could end up with a minimum of 11 d2d per week (9 national and 2 local), probably all for Saturday delivery.
By the way, the figures I have used are the same ones that the yes mob have used in their own arguments, and like them, I've just twisted them about to suit my point.
Obviously what is going to happen is that we will have 1 d2d item per week, which will be in a standard c5 size envelope, there will never be a Saturday specific one, and OUR customers will be waiting behind their doors in eager anticipation of this weeks exciting, value for money, insurance scam, dropping on their door mat.

Re: D2D
The figure given by Dave Ward is that the average amount of leaflets a household gets is 12. Remember the word average, that means some get more some get less. I would like to see the average for each delivery office catchment area.
This week three from RML and eight through the local paper for my houseshold. I must admit eight from a single paper is somewhat of a record.

When or if this deal gets in the following will happen (in relation to D2D and associated matters)
1. We will no longer be paid for D2Ds.
2. Posties in Delivery Units will get a "Delivery Supplement" of £20.60 pro rata (this has nothing to do with D2Ds on the ground) (the monies that used to pay D2D are now being used to pay for the supplement).
3. D2D cap will be lifted.
4. D2D will be included in work load, revisions and processes.
5. We will get the supplement 52 weeks a year.
6. D2Ds will be a 52 week product.
7. ESA 1 and ESA2 will go (£12 and £6 types)
8. There may be specific day D2Ds as mentioned in the proposed agreement.

Re: D2D
No argument from me I just wanted to clarify what will happen to D2Ds under this offer as there is some confusion.woofwoof wrote:9. i got £59.43 this week for door 2 door plus ESA2 this deal needs looking at again
PS I am 90% a NO voter but willing to be talked round with reasoned argument about the benefits of this offer rather than the fear of the consequences of a NO vote. Sadly still waiting.

The the poor person that starts that thread gets vilified for even having a different opinion, abused, sworn at etc.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:No argument from me I just wanted to clarify what will happen to D2Ds under this offer as there is some confusion.woofwoof wrote:9. i got £59.43 this week for door 2 door plus ESA2 this deal needs looking at again

I can think of much better ways to spend my spare time than being abused TBT. Although I may so that thread over the next day or so just for the entertainment value.

pinstripe wrote:Another question, on a week where there is a bank holiday, would we have to do 25% a day instead of 20%?
Is there anything in this 'agreement' concerning this?
correction
if there is a bank holiday then there will be 20% done a day.
you will do 4 days at 20% and the cover will do one day @20%
on a normal week you will do 16.6% a day and the rest day cover will do the same percentage on your day off.
otherwise the rest day cover will be doing 20% a day for 5 days and the duty holder will effectively only be doing 80%.
well thats the way im going to argue it when the mugs vote t through

Woofwoof to lose out 59.53 plus ESA you would have to be delivering to 1700 ( one thousand and seven hundred delivery points per day ) , your walk needs revising.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:No argument from me I just wanted to clarify what will happen to D2Ds under this offer as there is some confusion.woofwoof wrote:9. i got £59.43 this week for door 2 door plus ESA2 this deal needs looking at again

Re: D2D
BIG issue in my office as alot of P/T and job shares plus (supposed delivery only but come in on O/T preping walks) and they are p***ed off that they get the all mighty ''pro rata'' on something that they have to sort and deliver the same as F/T. also the fact that some full timers without regular walks ie PHG and drivers will get the wowie sum of £20 something for not even delivering D2D is just not on. I had asked oour Area Rep why this is and all he could tell me was RM have done it for 21 years, thats the way it is!!!!!!!! So that make s it right? Looked up pro rata and says .... proportion of.... so that means part timers take a proportion of and leave the rest for who????
