These R2D2 post boxes being erected by the United States Postal Service.
They are to celelbrate the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars on 25th May, 1977.
The fact that R2D2 looks a lot like an american postbox lends itself to the exercise.
I just cannot imagine the good old Royal Mail in this country doing anything this cool.
