If I am off sick and they want me to go back to do light duties although I have a sick line then I will refuse as it says the employer can cancel my sick pay if I neglect the instructions of your doctor :dance
Don't forget though as of Tuesday the "Sick Note" is to be replaced by the "Fit Note". So if you ever go 7 days or plus sick make sure the Doc knows the full details of your work or he might say you are fit.
is this just a rm thing or is it national, ie every industry

Sorry Uphill, you are living in cloud cuckoo land. This is another Royal Mail weapon, and although we all know that there are plenty of people in all walks of life and occupations that sham sickness, there are other ways to weed these out rather than having draconian rules and regulations that are totally deny the freedoms that we are entitled to as citizens of this country, and will not stand up if challenged in a court of law.

"if you are sick you must stay at home" senario was used when i was in the Army, they used to send the equivelent of a lino to come & visit you to make sure you were sick,if this is the way RM are going to operate, it again shows that we as a workforce as soon as we go sick ,are labelled malingerers

had a hernia op in march, been signed of by the doc till the 20 april, atos rang this morning for a "phone consultation"
won't bore you with the details but was told i should start work .. ..TOMORROW... .doing light duties that they would put in place!

told them that i wouldn't be returning until my certificate had run out as my doctor had physically exhamined me and given me a start date to resume :dance

was told by atos that they will report to my manager that i had refused their start date ,and was taking my own doctors advice!
no doubt my return to work briefing will be fun :arrrghhh

should i take a rep in with me ? :hmmmm
