DGP1 wrote:Quick question for lovejoy

We were told be or DOM (and another manager who was in to back him up) that D2Ds will be treated as live mail and are to be cleared the day they are put out, is this acurate?
We were also told that the first non-sequenced revision will be the the business plan (ie. taking out 3 duties and lapsing them permantley), is this true?
We were also told that if we don't like it then they'll just look at making us PT, is this in the spirit of the agreement?
We were also told that if we wanted the 1 in 4 Saturdays off then we will have to lapse to deal with it (only Tuesdays mind you), is this right?

This agreement has answered none of the issues that I (or others in my office) have had, it only seems to make it worse for us.
Your DOM is speaking complete rubbish on all of those points mate. I better get off b4 mrs lovejoy hangs me but will reply in full asap.
To answer your points DGP1 because I did say I would.......

The d2d's will be treated as mail in the sense that you will be able to cut off / ask for assistance etc but they will still be available on monday and delivery spread through the week.

The first non-sequenced revision should go through the 6 step process and there will be no pre-defined targets. If your DOM continues with this line contact your area rep.

They cannot make anyone PT - that is a threat and if you have witnesses I would give consideration to putting in a grievance.

The 1in4 saturdays will be part of the revision and nothing to do with lapsing. The 1in4 will be a set part of the office duties. I would also go back to your rep and encourage him/her to look at bettering the 1in4 which is possible under some of the new duty structures..... which will be out this week.

Lovejoy I respect your opinion and I also can see the ratianal behind some of your arguments but where you lost it for me mate was quite simple. You responded to the branch that was saying No, because their rep had been charged with a trumped up charge by saying "fair play, look after your own". However aren't we all part of the Union's own? and the truth is, as is very obvious there are winners and losers because of this agreement, so how can the Union be looking after its own?

Well they look after their "own" not the membership but the "professional" union bods - the modern day chattering classes.
